FA Cup 4th Round Draw | Tottenham (A) | Fri 26th Jan, 20:00

I'm sure they arrange the date on purpose to stop a lot of away fans travelling. Friday at 8pm will put thousands off going, they really wouldn't want 7,8,or 9 thousand city fans around North London. Total jokers

I'd add Chelsea to that list.

Oh I would, too, but then you're getting into, “Why not add Crystal Palace and Brentford to that list?” In fact, why not add anybody from mid-table down to Burnley, basically?
I was referring to clubs that have some ambition of getting top four and need a top striker to get near that (Manchester United, I hear you say? I said some, delusional as it may be).

But the FA saying specifically the 27th/28th, can't see it being on Friday. ITV will also want highest viewing figures, which probably isn't Friday.
Did they specify 4th/8th upfront for the round just gone? Cos if not, it’s just a guide at this stage I’d assume.

Their 3rd round draw artlicle said "The 32 third round proper ties will take place across the weekend of Saturday and Sunday 6 and 7 January."

This round says "The fourth round ties will be scheduled across the weekend of Saturday 27 January"

I don't think that rules out Friday personally.

OK, take your point.
But if you look at the ties that can feature prem teams that can be played on Sunday (due to prem matches on Tuesday), you have:

Bournemouth v Swansea City
West Brom v Brentford or Wolves
West Ham or Bristol City v Nottingham Forest or Blackpool
Liverpool v Norwich City or Bristol Rovers
Tottenham Hotspur v Manchester City
Newport County or Eastleigh v Manchester United

Who do you think they'll pick for Sunday?

I personally think it will be sunday too, but your logic doesnt work, ITV have first pick and if they want it played in the friday TV slot thats when we will play.

Bit of a bummer if it’s on the Friday night. I probably wasn’t going but started to fancy it as it should be a mint atmosphere if nearly 9000 blues are in attendance. However, Friday rules me out of even catching it on TV as I’m watching ABC at the Bridgewater Hall that night.
