It's not even like they've taken our top man to become their top man. They've taken someone, a little down our pecking order to become their top man.

Much the same with Matt Busby back in the day. He was always stalking the corridors at Old Trafford. This undermined the authority of many United managers.

Apparently, Howard Wilkinson when he was appointed as manager of Leeds United, removed all the pictures of Don Revie from within the stadium. He won promotion for them and soon followed this up with a league championship. Apparently this did not count because the Premier League had not yet been invented?

And, if for some strange reason you did willingly allow yourself to be called as a witness, it’s pretty much beyond comprehension that you would implicate yourself in behaviour that would see the highly lucrative career you have spent more than a decade building left in tatters.

(By the way, the same goes for any witness called in this tribunal, hence it’s an almost impossibly high bar for the panel to find against the club in any substantial way).
