But realistically, at this point the October surprise can only really hurt Biden.

They could reveal trump is a rapist - it’s public knowledge, his supporters don’t care,
They could reveal he raped minors - it’s public knowledge, his supporters don’t care.
They could reveal he’s a paid up Russian/Saudi/CCP agent - it’s public knowledge, his supporters don’t care.
They could reveal he cheated on his wives while they birthed his children - it’s public knowledge, his supporters don’t care
They could reveal that Trump is a lifelong democrat - it’s public knowledge, his supporters don’t care.

There is really nothing that could come out that would move the needle on how many votes he will get.

Hell, even in the non-zero chance he dies before the election, his cult will spoil their ballots to ‘vote’ for him.

All true. But the hardcore Trump base is not enough. He has to win the votes of a significant number of floating voters. As does Biden.

This is correct and I really don't understand how some people don't get this. It's a cult. Trump's comments re shooting someone on 5th Avenue have always been true.

I respect "floating voters" even less than I do Trump supporters. If you're too dumb or lazy or crass or amoral to not have picked a side by now . . .

Some people just don't give a shit about politics. There's a wide spectrum out there of these people. Everything from the to stupid to understand it to the to lazy and even some who overthink it and don't vote as they don't see anything that aligns closely enough with what they believe. But by far the biggest block are the to lazy / apathetic. Trump's win in 2016 was in large part due to drawing in uneducated non voters. These votes on top of the traditional Conservative block won him race.

If I had a dollar for every “undecided/independent” voter who went on to spew Fox News talking points. In my opinion most of these type of people are too stupid or dishonest to realize or admit which side of the fence they sit on.

A certain Mr Brand keeps parroting that Americans shouldn't vote on his various media channels. Like other grifters he does have a large US following.

That's what worries me about certain younger people. An example: my kid was in a play at uni last year and I went to see her. I sat next to a few uni students. They were talking about how they hated all politicians, both parties, equally. As an old man I wanted to say something but didn't. I was certainly focused on other things during my first few years as an adult too. And all too often who is President doesn't matter much to one's daily life. But a) you've gotta think about others too, not just yourself and b) as long as Trump is around, it very well could matter.

The only way Trump wins is voter apathy. Trump is going to get the same number of votes no matter what happens, the issue for Democrats is that an estimated 70% of Americans say they don’t want either guy in charge.

Even with a record turn out in 2020, it still only came down to a few thousand votes in a few states.

For Biden to win, the Democrats *HAVE* to get everyone out to vote, but especially the apathetic floating voters who don’t want either but will vote Biden holding their nose.

I hope a lot of people follow his advice, because, like Rogan, I'd bet his viewer/listener base is widely those who'd lean MAGA, not traditional Democrats/independents.

Rogan is another man who's mastered social media. The way his shows are clipped to make them sound interesting is Goebbels like in comparison to falling asleep listening to them for 3 hours.
 
they are only asking for $24m in this case against Trump. thats tiny compared to where I thought they were going to go with it. Giuliani was fined $148m and was far less well off than Trump.
