Kalvin Phillips

I only tuned in at 60 mins, & Kalvin was soon substituted. I saw the howler during a replay & felt gutted for him because it was a shit ball in the first place, & in hindsight he should've wellied it clear.

How did he do aside from the mistake?

Man City's record on buying English players is horrific at best - that's including Stones and Carson!
Pep has made Walker into the best right back in Europe, made Stones THE best English defender I've ever seen and Grealish has improved no end. Milner, Lescott, Sterling and Barry didn't do too badly either and have a lot more medals than your scruffs do in Newcastle.

Newcastle's record on buying players from any country on earth is horrific and you've not won a trophy for fuckin YEARS. I wouldn't be carping on about any other teams English players when yours are shite pal.

Costing the appy Ammers 2 points is not as catastrophic as costing us , and he can do his parent club a turn by beating the dippers next week and two footing Klipperty on his way past

I've only just seen it this morning and the lad was sold down the river without doubt. Yes, he could have been a bit quicker but that's down to rustiness I'd have thought. I presume VAR decided the ball came off him last as the attacker seemed to poke it through for Solanke which would have put him in an offside position.

It was clear that TNT were itching for him to not start well - yes he made a mistake but it was a God awful inside pass to deal with. They then went on and on about how City have ruined him and the glee in their voices was evident. It will take him time to get up to speed but from what I saw he was not the worst player for WH in that game. He will get better for them I'm sure.

We all know the step up to our way of playing is huge and Kalvin will probably not play for us again. Hopefully he can have a good rest of the year at the Hammers and then someone may give us 25m for him. Above all I wish him good luck because he seems a nice guy.

It 100% came off his boot and it looked as though he passed it straight to Solanke in the replays. He was under pressure though, so there’s an argument he didn’t mean to play it as he did, meaning an accidents, touch and therefore offside, but it was always going to be given as a goal.

Nah it was deffo a Philips attempted back-pass from a suicide pass to him. It was the worst possible start to his WHU career.

The only other action I saw was a tackle won in midfield, with a short pass, & another tackle at left back with a pass into WHU's area which was hoofed clear.

Gutted I missed the rest of it, because I really want him to return to confidence & to rediscover his form. Hopefully he'll show a steely resolve & recover from that horror start & ultimately go on to prosper.

I thought the cat kicker was 100% to blame for the B'mouth goal and thereafter Phillips switch passing was excellent. Typical of the BBC to dig him out in their headline.
