Bit of wishful thinking here. I expect to see Walker, Phillips & Gomez move on in the summer (hopefully nobody else) and if opportunity permits would love to see us exercise our club trained buy back options for Douglas Luiz & Yan Couto. Think Paqueta is nailed on to arrive if not banned and have a feeling we'll see his fellow Brazilian Savio along with the Urugayan Araujo to replace Walker, possibly in part ex for Cancelo. Above all let's get a top level LB in like Alphonso Davies. Bobb & Lewis will both still be U21 next term so maybe a squad looking like this might emerge:
Ederson
Araujo, Stones, Dias, Davies;
De Bruyne, Rodri, Silva;
Foden Haaland Grealish:

Ortega
Couto, Akanji, Gvardiol, Ake;
Kovacic, Luiz, Paqueta;
Savio, Alvarez, Doku:

+ Nunes, Carson, Bobb & Lewis.

Think ortega and benardo will both go.
Don't think walker will.
Agree with this. And I don’t think we’ll add that many to a back line that is already pretty robust (regardless of what people think of Gvardiol). I think one more traditional fullback. I think maybe one more year with Ake/Akanji/stones before we start worrying about their age and replace more generously.

I think buy back for Douglass Luiz is no longer valid and Yan Couto seemingly prefers a move away from us.
A versatile player who can fill in for Rodri is what I feel we need.

I think the Couto propaganda out of Madrid indicates he's on.his way to us and the Luiz buy back option lasts until 2026 according to folk on here.

nope, ended last summer.

squad on the first page looks to be 2 players over the registration limit, would be good though

That sounds promising.
I thought the Luiz buy back option was gone but if its still available seems like a no brainer.
On Couto, I think he is no better than Kabore at Luton. I think Pep could do wonders with Kabore.
I'd take the money and flog Couto.

Not according to the MUEN last week but you may be right. Think my squad adds up though - 17 free list, 3 club trained (Foden, Couto, Luiz), 4 assoc trained (Ake, Grealish,Stones, Carson) + Bobb & Lewis U21.

Couto and Luiz aren’t club trained

Kimmich, plus a proper left back and if Bernardo leaves then replace him with a really quick, direct winger a bit like Doku.

Kimmich, Wirtz, Savio & Couto would be one hell of a window.

I'd have a right go at trying to get Balde from Barcelona if they are in a dire enough financial situation. He'll be the best left back in the world for the next decade.

Looks like Luiz may be short but Couto seems OK

Barca should be told to sell to sort their finances out!
