After recent experiences, I don’t think we’ll be dragged into a protracted summer of chasing players who might go elsewhere or stay put (Wirtz and Kimmich will likely both be at Bayern come September, for me). Better to target players we reckon we can get and get quickly.
Rather than just look at potential players, however, I reckon it’s also helpful to identify what we sometimes lack. We need another physical presence with height in midfield, we need an attacking outlet on the left that can go naturally around the opposing right back, we need another midfield body that can retain possession but also be creative, and we need a physical presence with some pace who can also play up front.

Tbh in my eyes ake is the best one of the lot .Doubt it Ake and Akanji both being picked regularly, if any centre back was to be unhappy with his starts currently it would be Dias.

Bit of wishful thinking here. I expect to see Walker, Phillips & Gomez move on in the summer (hopefully nobody else) and if opportunity permits would love to see us exercise our club trained buy back options for Douglas Luiz & Yan Couto. Think Paqueta is nailed on to arrive if not banned and have a feeling we'll see his fellow Brazilian Savio along with the Urugayan Araujo to replace Walker, possibly in part ex for Cancelo. Above all let's get a top level LB in like Alphonso Davies. Bobb & Lewis will both still be U21 next term so maybe a squad looking like this might emerge:
