Yes…Can you do an apprenticeship in drug dealing
Yes. Absolutely.Someone works hard and does well for themselves should pay more in tax percentage wise. Why is that fair.
Can you do an apprenticeship in drug dealing
It’s an even bitter pill when fiscal drag has made it a damn sight worse for millions of lower paid workersI agree but when you do work hard and make some money it's a bitter pill to swallow when you pay a karge percentage of it in tax to fund those that won't work. And before anyone gets on their high horse yes there are those that can't work and deserve help but there is a lot that are just bone idle.
OK then, do you think the current rates are fairYes. Absolutely.
It’s fair because that’s how a civilised society operates.
Do you not want a civilised society?
Think the Scottish tax bands are fairer if that helps. Not perfect but fairer.OK then, do you think the current rates are fair
JSA was around 1% of the welfare budget before it migrated into UC.I submit that out of total government spending, the amount paid to those who 'won't work' is trivial. You must also consider that many in that category are unemployable, and would cost an absolute fortune in things like drug rehabilitation and education to make them suitable for even the lowliest work.
To live in a civilised society is costly, but the alternative is far worse. Taxes are very low in Somalia, for example, but the lifestyle is pretty shit.
BTW, I would be very happy to cut spending on some stuff, but the things I would cut would have the right up in arms.

No, I think the wealthiest and highest earners should pay a higher proportion than they do, especially in relation to assets.OK then, do you think the current rates are fair
ReallyYes…
Cut the tax fiddles for the richest for a start......Cut wasted Govt contracts....loads of cuts to consider. It would be interesting to know what you would cut
It’s a fact. One that you’re clearly completely unaware of.Are you actually being serious
So exactly what I said then.Implemented - but they were part of the agreement for the Lib Dems to go into coalition, and Osborne only Nicked the credit when he discovered they were so popular.

Oh come on, don't be so disingenuous. So exactly what I said then.
It would divert the thread too much.It would be interesting to know what you would cut
I said they were implemented by George Osborne because I wanted to provide some context as to when the largest increases in the personal allowance were implemented. There’s nothing disingenuous about what I stated.Oh come on, don't be so disingenuous.
They were a Lib Dem policy, and the article is literally about George Osborne taking credit for them.
Your comment did exactly the same.
Cut the tax fiddles for the richest for a start......Cut wasted Govt contracts....loads of cuts to consider.
The last thing to cut is benefits for the poorest and most vulnerable which are purely for dicks who read the Mail.
Well, I'm sure next time, you'll be using the words Lib Dems, Coalition, or Nick CLegg instead. Just to provide the correct context ;)I said they were implemented by George Osborne because I wanted to provide some context as to when the largest increases in the personal allowance were implemented. There’s nothing disingenuous about what I stated.
Has he broken the law then?
