Etihad Campus, Stadium and Collar Site Development Thread

We could play any nights but Thursday (unless our season goes tits up). Will be many clashes I reckon. Hope I'm wrong but time will tell.
Well they have announced 33 summer dates already - which equates to roughly 25% of the annual gigs. Only one of these potentially clash if we reach the champs league semi. .

It will be fairly easy to avoid clashes - maybe a handful will do.

Avoid Tue and Wed gigs and will fairly easy to cope at weekends.

Well firstly, good luck in trying to run a train that needs to cut across all the lines that enter the throat of Manchester's main rail station, especially every 6 minutes as you suggested. You wouldn't even get anything through the Castlefield corridor anyway.

It uses a parallel line to the busy lines and splits completely at Ardwick, on its line there are only two trains an hour to Sheffield and the same to Glossop, so it is very doable two Saturdays/midweek evenings per month

Reddish South railway station is a stop on the Stockport–Stalybridge Line in Reddish, Stockport, England. The station, used by only 26 passengers in 2013/14, is one of the quietest on the UK rail network. If we go deep in both cups , I think we can top this number for our new Etihad station. Well worth the millions.

Why don’t you write to TfGM and tell them your idea? Sounds like you’re a genius.

You sound like an expert on the matter. It would be interesting to know your qualifications on urban transport planning and rail wo

Wondering why the shitty replies , the guys only chucking out ideas !
The Victorians managed to build a massive Viaduct over the Mersey valley in Stockport in 1840 . Now in 2024 our so called "experts" find it to hard to build a couple of platforms next to a existing rail line ?

Aye they were a bit. I'll take some time out.

Apologies @eyalluvitt.

Sorry mate, I enjoy your picture updates and posts but this is complete and utter bollocks! The public transport systems in ALL major European cities is infinitely better than MCR! The UK has the worst (and most expensive) public transport system in Western Europe. Using UEFAs shitshow in Istanbul is a smokescreen; the stadium isn’t in the city!
You really need to get around more.

Absolute bullshit. I have lived or worked in numerous UK cities over the years (Manchester, Birmingham, Coventry. Leicester, Glasgow, London, and Edinburgh) the only ones comparable to Manchester are London and possibly Edinburgh.

You obviously can't come up withn any evidence for these hysterical claims.

Mmm, I think you’ve misread my comparator. I said “the UK” compared to Western Europe. All your examples are the UK, a very low baseline! I’ve lived or worked in pretty much every European capital and major city, most of Asia, Australia and a few dozen in the US, plus lived in China (clue in the user name) and Italy, so I like to think I’ve “got around a bit” . I stick by my non-hysterical claim that the UKs public transport (not just MCR, look at the train shambles) is an expensive disgrace. Anyway, I’ve no desire to start a row, and will be trying the new bus route again tomorrow (as the new parking restrictions, chaotic tram and lack of trains make it more and more difficult to travel the epic 20 miles from Macc for a night game)

Anyone know if that is how the outside of the Coop Live arena is going to look? Just three black boxes off set??

It has to be one of the most dull boring buildings ever designed. It makes Simpson Haugh's ubiquitous grey towers look actually interesting.
