They did but the scouse rats dug in and won. They also beat Chelsea with half a first team, more than we've managed to do this season.
 
Chelsea with no pressure defended deep,and rode their luck against us and Halaand had an off night.

Today was more a test for them. Pressure on and something at stake and they failed.

We don’t need to damn our players because Chelsea were crap today.
 
Unbelievable capitulation from Chelsea. I can’t fathom how we have played them twice this season and not won. Their fans must be distraught with that extra time showing. They literally stopped running and waited for a shoot out against half a youth team.
I think we also saw today, in the really big moments, why we didn’t fight that hard to keep Palmer. He is very talented, but….

Spitty said it’s as important a trophy for Klopp as his Champions League win, what an absolute fucking whopper. And that Drury fella, what a fuck wit he is, “Godfather Klopp and his kids”, fuck off you over sentimental ****, he loves it when other teams score against us but rarely raises his voice when we score, wanker.
 
The sooner Klippety departs the better , then the Dippers can then revert to type, challenging for a top six place and hoping for a good cup run , then we will see a few empty seats in their 60k ground like they used to have when Hodgson was their manager and where playing in mid table.

Whilst I agree he is way overrated I don't lay the blame for this defeat at his door alone - love him or loathe him (loathe on our part ) Klopp has a system and has an academy of young players who play his way so yes Potchettino was schooled by kids but they were kids who knew how and what was expected of them. Chelsea's owners have splash a shitload of cash in a scattergun approach instead of concentrating on whats important. Its what American owners tend to do - they think its like an American sport and you can "draft pick " your way to success with money. The dippers had a barren spell under yank ownership until they got Klopp in and he got them organised and the Chelsea debacle is no co-incidence either. The advantage we had was we got owners in who had cash, knew how to grow a brand and a business and knew enough to put people in charge of the playing side who knew how the game worked. Chelsea will go nowhere under this approach by this ownership no matter who is manager
