Not sure, given all the debate over tickets where this sits but it probably deserves its own thread. The club is currently recruiting for a Ticketing Compliance Manager - full details can be found here https://www.linkedin.com/jobs/view/3838432700

The interesting bit is this:

The successful applicant will actively investigate ticket re-sale misuse for home and away matches and fraud along with all aspects of ticket touting to ensure that the Club’s terms and conditions are adhered to and that crimes under the Serious and Organised Crime Act 2005 and the Criminal Justice and Public Order Act 1994.are minimised.

You will develop a comprehensive policy to ensure a comprehensive and sustainable model for the identification, investigation and prevention of ticket sale misuse and touting.

You'll use data analytics to identify trends and patterns of ticket purchases alongside pro-active investigation into ticket re-sale through all unauthorised channels including online, social and face to face.

If they started investigating in house that would be a good starting point!

Here’s a start.

City away end.
Total £778.70.

I’m sure there’s plenty more City away tickets being sold on third party ticket resale sites. Viagogo, who were an official City ticket partner is another example.

City away tickets on 3rd party ticket resale websites should be easy to trace back to their original owner, namely Manchester City Football Club.

According to them they have 800 derby tickets for sale, starting from £199 + VAT and commission? Or do they mean they might be able to source up to 800 derby tickets, hence why they offer the guarantee?

I might apply for a laugh. If I get the job, that's exactly where I'm going to start!

At least you will get first dibs on away tickets with this role :-)

Direct this link to the new Ticketing Compliance Manager.

There are always genuine City fans looking for home and away tickets at 'face value', as well as 'ticket touts and scammers'.(cunts!)

Thankfully Ric runs a ticket face value price only policy.

I worked in membership for The Royal Horticultural Society and could receive two free tickets for any of our shows as an employee. That was standard.

He or she aren't going to rock the boat are they. They certainly won't be looking into how and why City, their employer, distribute away tickets like they do.

City doing it aside. How are City going to find out who the original seller of the ticket is to the 3rd party ticket website without buying the ticket at the price being advertised, which they won't do.

I saw a lad this season in his 20's(?), well dressed, but casual, sat in the Craft Bar in the Double Tree Hotel on London Road in the city centre, taking calls on his mobile, selling tickets for a match, with a steady stream of people buying the tickets. He had quite a few tickets, as he either held them in his hand or put them on the table waiting for the buyers to turn up. He wasn't bothered about people seeing the tickets. Looking at him you wouldn't haven't thought he was a ticket tout. It's impossible to say where he sourced that many tickets from, but it must have been from the club or from somebody connected to the club to get that amount of tickets.
