Yep, the narrative absolutely needs to be that at a time when we are economically on our knees and many people are in dire straits why are we using public funds to enrich American billionaires and tax avoiding British billionaires. If the argument is the return on the investment show us the business case for UK plc and how it's a better bet than the million other things we desperately need investment in. The current lot wouldn't care less cause it's all about the grift for them but maybe it can be made a source of political embarrassment for an incoming administration. Turn the 'Wembley of the north' narrative back on them by pointing out that Wembley was monumentally bad value for money and that we can ill afford such frippery now.

They can have all the best talent in the world off the pitch but whilst those on it, on huge bloated contracts, are still there it’ll do them fuck all good.
The resale prices on their biggest assets aren’t huge but the money spent on replacements would be.
All in all they’re fucked for at least another 5 years.

United claiming Old Trafford should be the National Stadium Of The North as the rags are “the biggest club in the world”. However, we have no money, in fact it’s worse than that we owe almost a billion pounds. Regardless, our new stadium should be paid for by other people’s money.

Shows the stark difference between the two clubs, scruffy Jim comes in with his billions but has to start forming committees and reaching out to the local authorities to get this done. Meanwhile in Eastlands our owners plough on bringing private investment to the table in Silverlake to build the biggest arena in the country. Add to that a new hotel in the extended North stand, not to mention the redevelopment of property in Ancoats and building a college. No public money needed but you get the likes of the Guardian doing hit pieces on it.
 
Ratcliffe and his mates really need to stop referring to the new ground as 'the national stadium of the North'. They're trying to make it look like they're doing all of us up here a favour, like we should appreciate what they're doing and happily go along with the public funding. I know us Blues see through it but others won't.
He's only interested in what he and the rags can get out if it.

I'd like to see the second bid. Presumably Birmingham is being asked for their proposals for a new national stadium if one is required. I'm sure Birmingham, Villa or Wolves are as worthy of such government largesse.
 
is this stadium getting built before they sign Kane or Mbappe or after, never fucking happen in a month of Sundays, the PR machine is well and trully up and running so dont believe a word, the country is on its backside 'skint' with no money to fund a Wembley North for them cunts, and if there was enough money there would be public rage with people dying of the likes of cancer while on a waiting list for treatment
