Is the semi final the weekend AFTER we play Madrid at home on the Wednesday? If so then surely we want the Sunday game? As the only team in the fa cup semis and still in Europe we should get the consideration, but we never do
Yes it’s the weekend after the Madrid second leg.
The downside to playing Chelsea on the Sunday is that means less rest before the Brighton game which will more than likely be played the following midweek. Brighton have 10 days without a game before that - they’re out of the Europa and their game against Chelsea on SF weekend will now be postponed.
Depends how big a priority the FA Cup is compared to the title.

The Cole palmer media wankathon has died down slightly recently. Something tells me it’s about to be cranked into overdrive!
Why are you slagging Cole Palmer? He never wanted to leave City but Pep wouldn’t guarantee him the playing time he was looking for. He went on to Chelsea and good luck to him. City received a decent transfer fee.

City have lost many other good players in recent years including Jason Sancho, Douglas Luiz, Pedro Porro, etc. and received decent transfer fees.

A chance in a lifetime exists for pep and this squad of players after the unbelievable achievements of last season we find ourselves heading into the final stretch with us still in with the chance of and I’ll call it a never to be done ever again double treble long way still to go in a sense but we have that chance ..

Both semis would have been perfect for Villa Park.

So much for the FA saying they'd go back to neutral grounds after a few years paying off the wembley debts.

Greedy cunts.

Did they say that?

That’s a genuine question btw. I can’t remember what was said but it surprises me if they said that.

I'll try and find the quote from I think it was Adrian Bevington when he was at the FA.

It was something like the semis would only be need to be played there for 7/8 years to help pay off the new stadium.

It could be a Mandela affect memory now I think about it?

I am not aware of the FA ever saying that, in fact the opposite is my understanding.

Their debt is such that they need every opportunity to cash in for decades.
They pledged to keep the semis there for 30 years when it was rebuilt.
That was before Covid hit the income.
