Well this will be the first time they have been able to do so. It was sold as an affordable option after COVID but I've seen posters say that when they attempted to go back to gold the following season they couldn't. Finally the club have done the right thing as it was a disgraceful thing to do

I’ll stick up for the club on that one.

They never said you could switch and go back to a full ST if you downgraded. People incorrectly made that assumption.

But now they’ve done away with them in favour of this flexi thing, they’re allowing them to go full ST, rather than there only option being switching from silver to flexi. Which I think is fair enough.

Seems a bit odd that as if your an existing season ticket holder, who is considering downgrading you surely need to see if its cost effective.

You lose your right to that seat or ticket in the season after, there is no renewal process, basically every season ticket given up for a flexi-gold is a season ticket place lost and becomes another match day seat, you are just purchasing dibs on it for a year

But you must realise those L3 tickets were sold cheaply to fill em as an introductory price.

They were never going to remain at that level long term.

I'm just below and am paying and always have paid twice what L3 pay for pretty much the same view.

I know that it wouldn’t stay that but like I said next year it will be 9 years and a 50% increase! Also the view from the back of L3 is vastly different from lower down. You get what you pay for. What will be if more interest going forward as well is if they intend to make it all safe standing up there like the away end, because o can’t stand fir that amount anymore so will have to move down increasing price.

It has everything to do with who he is as he’s out of touch with the local demographics.

It’s short term thinking and he won’t be here to pick up the pieces when the shit hits the fan once the success has cooled off.

It’s a business not a charity. His remit is to maximise revenue in a cut throat business not placate an ageing fanbase who wanna pay rock bottom prices.

I say that as an ageing fan who wants to pay rock bottom prices. But I’m a realist too.

Have you, or City matters ever had a “Win”?

Given the lack of visible success, point taken.

Although unrelated to the club, I think the report I produced on Istanbul can be considered a win. It was disappointing how the club and UEFA ultimately dealt with it, but the meeting with senior officials from the latter was a positive step. We also took part in a lot of work with the Police over fan experiences in Europe.

We've done a lot behind the scenes on ticketing criteria, especially over the last year - the Champions League Final was a good example, but the move to enlarged match day criteria for cup scheme sales was also something from the group.

On the Gold+ and 14 game policy the club have announced today, we were able to achieve some movement on what the club were going to go with.

In regard to match day experience, we've worked with the club over things like the Ebars.

That's just some recent examples. I think my point is that whilst City Matters fail to have an impact of really defining issues (and I'm fully appreciative that groups like ours live and die in this regard), we do take part in a lot of more operational issues behind the scenes.

What will happen if I as a junior member have more points than my mum? I have quite a bit more points than my mum so would be a kicker if I'd be left out on this because this.

Junior season card members have to be sat next to an adult due to safeguarding. That said, I will raise this with the club so that you do not lose out.

I think you can stay on flexi again but it is by starting the process over again, you couldn't upgrade to a full eason ticket
you would be buying a membership yearly and a seat liscence for that year, whether that guarantees you get the same seat each season hasn't been made clear.







Same the seat you have paid to reserve, if you miss the sales window for a game, you still can by elsewhere but at normal cityzens prices.

I'm against the price rises. I'm pretty confident most of the reasons have already been set out here, so I won't repeat them. I also think that the £150 premium for Gold+ is completely wrong. I think it's unfair to pay a premium for the exact same product as someone else, and it could also be seen as getting as much as possible from those who are desperate for a season ticket; given that there are no "normal" tickets on the market. We did achieve a bit of movement on the premium. Like 1894 and the Foodbank, I've been happy to share these thoughts in the media too.

The club told City Matters about the price increases last Thursday and I and some of the other representatives made similar points to many here. I asked about the reasoning for the price increase and, in my view, I didn't receive a very convincing answer - the increase in operating costs were mentioned.

I appreciate that many will be questioning the point of City Matters in all of this and, trust me, I am well aware that the group has struggled to move the dial on the key strategic issues for supporters. However, under the Premier League's push regarding the Fan Engagement Standard, groups such as ours are here to stay, and I think it is important that there is someone at the table who can share fan sentiment with decision makers. For those of you who may have been priced out, I'm sorry that we couldn't make a bigger impact.

Do you know if the individual ticket prices payable with flexi-gold will be closer to the Season Ticket price per match or closer to the price paid by matchday members not in the flexi-gold scheme?
I think I know the answer tbh.

Yeah it’s a weird one, the examples do show the 1/19th ST price tho. Wouldnt be surprised if u have to pay a discounted individual match ticket however rather than 1/19th ST price

Mine is now £1075. That’s £107.50 per month. That’s on top of all the tickets I buy for my son for each game. Plus the cup games. Plus the away games. It’s just too much.

I say it every year the tickets for games could be free and it wouldn’t barely register with the club in the grand scheme of things, when you compare the overall ticket revenue income to other income the club receives. The German model shows what happens when you reduce tickets to an affordable level, and their games/atmospheres are rocking everywhere you go, whereas premier league grounds are increasingly populated with tourists and new fans. Anyway most of us will renew and put up with what seems an unnecessary increase.

Having said that …. I’ve ‘got’ to go watch Macclesfield v Morpeth on Saturday and that’s £17!! Non non non league.

Equally sky just put my prices up per month for sports by £3 which is roughly half what my son and mine SCs have gone up by combined. I’m not sure anyone can really argue that we don’t get a pretty good deal at city at least in this golden era

My SC just dropped 50% being old is just the gift that keeps giving on a serious point the OSC and city matters have been supine over price rises year after year time to bin both as they are just collaborators in profiteering
When I was involved in both I was seen/ accused of being difficult ect about price freezes would have saved most fans to date about £250 if they had challenged the club but conformity leads to corruption which runs runs deep and is hard to defenestrate you reap. what you sow

Which is exactly what they want and unfortunately we are the sacrificial lambs.

Just can’t afford it. I’ve only done 8 this season. Now my Son is 8, my Nephew is 7. They are getting the bug. Going to as many as I can cause they want to. They have to start somewhere.

I hope that not many think that way. Some people like to rant and rave but most sensible people understand that its very difficult for the group to really influence the club if they are determined to follow a certain path, but at least your representation at meetings highlights the thoughts of the fanbase, which otherwise the club is unlikely to be aware of.

It must feel like a thankless task on days like this but the work of you and your colleagues is appreciated.
