Season Tickets - 2024/25

I get the over 65 discount in SS3 but I'd be happy paying the £475 full price if I was younger as it's great value.

The real divide now is between the Haves (SC holders) and the Have Nots (those paying match day prices). Those prices are scandalous. I expect a small net increase in SC holders when the expanded NS opens but it will be nowhere near what many seem to expect as most seats will be existing relocations and GA. After that there will be almost zero chance of anyone becoming a new SC holder.

That’s a cop out and you know it. Don’t think an extra £1.2m is going to make much odds. It might to the working class blue who takes his 2 young lads to the match though.
It obviously does make odds to the club though as each year it adds up. So while it may only be an extra 1.2M this year, it's probably similar over the last dozen years (and no doubt the next few years too). It soon adds up to a worthwhile amount for the club. There will most likely be a target they have in mind and we'll see 'smallish' increases until they reach that target.

I think us fans need to make a stance . Maybe 1894 group can provide some displays if many fans can chip in to their fund . I know it comes across as negative at the business end of the season but it’s reached a level now where we need to make the club aware visually. It’s got to the stage now where thousands of fans simply can’t afford to go. Individual prices are ridiculous and the comforting blanket of a seasoncard is now reaching price levels of people looking to give them up.
We don’t take the success on the pitch for granted but just because we’re good doesn’t make our fans wealthy. Khaldoon has said he respects our history and loyal fans and said he won’t ever forget that . He has done a great job with statues and bringing back ex players for certain roles fans. The most important thing is to don’t lose your so called legacy fans and working class fan base. We all know we’re a predominantly working class fan base and already people just simply can’t afford to go. It’s been a steady decline of fans not renewing and it’s a sad state of affairs when the club don’t need to push prices up further . We used to have on average 10 lads meet up for every game . We’re now lucky to get 3 of us unless it’s the bigger games .

Mine has gone from £795 to £870. That is a £75 increase at nearly 9.5%. Do you think that is a "smallish" increase because I fucking well don't.

I just don't get this thinking about the "loyal legacy fans", surely they're earning a lot more than when we were crap? If not then how is that the clubs fault that they can't can't afford modern day prices that are no different to anywhere else?
Real time wages taking into account cost of living, interest rate etc have reduced to their lowest since 1977 and in real terms in thw last decade the majority or peoples wages have got lower in terms of outlay.

I know we have a lot of quite comfortably off blue and people from nice little cheshire towns on here but many of the 36000 ST holders will still be peole earmingless than 30k with families and mortgages handing over their heads, not just from Manchester so many have quite high travel costs on top too.

I'm not saying walk out and I'd also not protest at the Arsenal game

If it were organised and advertised widely, I think a huge chunk of season card holders would support a "take your seat late" protest

Better still, all season ticket holders/legacy fans should stay silent at just one game (not the arsenal one though, wouldn’t want it to spook our lads on a potential 6-pointer) and let the Club see just how much that affects the atmosphere at a game.

If tourists are so great, then surely, they’ll be able to provide ample support for the team?

There’s a name for that kind of protest. It’s called Burnley at home!

If they want the next generation of city fans they are going about it in the wrong way, I Don’t have one that likes City, but look at the increase if you have one or two, lump on the extra cost of car parking and buying them a new kit each year and that if you have a season card its a damn sight cheaper than if you can only take them buying match to match. Some on here will say oh well you have to make choices then don’t you, try telling that to a City mad kid! Those same people will then bemoaning when sat round them is people on their fucking phones not even watching the game and no atmosphere. I hate to say it but if Bayern Munich can have season tickets for £100 or so why can’t we as one of the richest clubs in the world also do it?

You are right from a business point of view as that is what the mindset of the people who make the decisions, but I just believe it can be do another way, they just choose not to IMO as it’s the easier way as they know we will just accept it as we can’t let go easily and have no competitors to turn to to get our fix.

It’s just sad reality of greedy life.
What do people really expect though ?

That's not how I works.

Read this comment every year, but those increases over 10 years have made a difference. Match day revenue is important and contributes towards the signings, stadium development and player wages.

Prices have increased year on year as they have at most other Clubs, they probably will continue to do so.

Anyone suggesting City should for example, have frozen prices 10 years ago and the Club now be in a situation where City fans pay a lot less than our competitors is nuts!

You'd think we were not under continued scrutiny with cases launched left right and centre into our finances!

Football is an expensive past time these days, it ain't changing until governance take control but they aren't bothered either. A lot of people are paid well for "working in football" it's a gravy train!

City have to balance the books like everyone else. A couple of years out of CL and missing out on all that revenue would have a huge impact, no more Haalands signed.
Would you prefer City hike the prices by 50% in that situation to bridge the gap!

I'll guarantee you something. This price increase will have no impact on those S/T holders who can't be arsed attending the less glamorous games.

Got the cheapest season ticket I could when they opened SS3, sacked off the champions league scheme first, then platinum then the league cup scheme last season. I fully appreciate they don't want people like me but it doesn't really tally with Peps whole "We need our people" mantra and I am also not sure we have as many corporate fans as they would like so struggling to see why we need more and more.

£61 a ticket for Burnley midweek and swathes of empty seats, what's the plan Soriano?

The increases are 'smallish' though but over a number of seasons add up both for the club in terms of income and for the ticket holders in terms of cost. It is seen as more palatable than increasing say from £490 to £900 in one go.

There was a post earlier in the thread showing increases over a period of time as below for block 104 I think:

07/08 - £460
13/14 - £690
14/15 - £755
15/16 - £800
16/17 - £750 (-£50 as I dropped to Gold)
17/18 - £770
18/19 - £795
19/20 - £820
20/21 - behind closed doors
21/22 - £820
22/23 - £845
23/24 - £880
24/25 - £915

Ultimately the price of the ticket over that period has effectively doubled, which has been achieved by these 'smallish' increases each year, rather than one huge increase. Obviously that increase isn't insignificant to the clubs income, nor is it insignificant to the cost to the supporter unfortunately.

If anyone has seen Ferran Soriano Compte, can you please contact GMP. He hasn't been seen for almost a year. He was last seen in Istanbul.

Yet we posted an £80 million profit in the last set of published accounts so there was no need whatsoever to ramp up season ticket prices again
What happens when we don't post a profit!

3 years out of CL which can easily happen and we post huge losses and fail the bullshit PL rules.

Maybe they could have said price freeze because of success and profit but this is big business all about £ and when would that ever happen?

In reality a price freeze will be applied when something is shit not when it's successful.

I have to admit I cannot really fault my ticket price but, like yourself, I am very sympathetic to others who are priced out.

It has come at a cost for me. My mates all sit on level 2 but factoring in my travel costs and missing games (prior to ticket exchange) that was just unsustainable and so I moved to SSL3. Turned into a great move and I would consider the people I now sit next to as friends also.

I know we criticise the club but we definitely benefit from a wide range of ticket prices which gives more flexibility dependent upon your pocket. I know a lot of other fans can hardly believe how cheap my ticket is.

From reading comments over the years on ticket prices some fans seem to prefer to drop out than relocate to a cheaper seat elsewhere. Seems a shame that without giving it a go.
SSL3 is fantastic it’s just that bloody climb, ha ha, there’s a great bunch up there all who moved when it was opened, you see more and more older fans now who want a better deal up there, i teckon in the coming seasons they will fit a stana chair lift for the FOCs ;) on a serious nit I just hope they don’t do safe standing there.
