I think the colour of football crest is a bit of a different story to a flag that has represented a full nation for centuries on a shirt where they're representing that nation.

I think some things should be left alone

It's not an England flag. It's a cross.

If they'd actually made a flag with a white background and put a different cross on it, then you could atually claim they're changing the flag.

But then again, I have no idea why this thread ever made it past @Ric's post that showed conclusively thsat this has been done before and no one gave a shit. So what's changed is not kit designers...it's almost like on of the main political parties openly said the only chance they have of winning an election is to create a culture war and have poured every resource they have into creating one.

No one was arsed in 2010 when England had this kit. Just more tedious, culture war bollocks.

Said cross is supposed to be red, not lifted from a bisexual flag as it seems to be. Its the shirt for people representing a nation in an international competition, not a sexuality or anything else, so it should have the correct one.

It's amazing how this country can get whipped up and riled about a clearly confected issue. It's just a design decision to use the colour palette that includes the away kit. In the grand scheme of things I'm not arsed about it, mainly because im not a massive England fan. If you don't want to buy it don't, which I suspect a lot won't. Its important to some people I'm just not one them. Do I think it's a massive own goal by the FA and Nike, yes but fuck em. By the way the price of the shirt is ridiculous.

It is a national team football shirt. I agree with many that it's not necessary to change the colours of the flag, they're representing the country and it should rightly have the proper flag on it in my opinion. I dare Nike to try that with the Iranian shirt and flag....

If England and the players want to do something that symbolises inclusiveness, I have no issue, the arm bands and things don't bother me. I don't think it needs to stretch as far as changing the flag of the country on their national football shirt.
