Premier League (midweek) Games 2/3/4 April '24

W have to remember with Palmer, he looks good because he’s playing in a mediocre, mid table team so is shining brightly but, and it’s a big but, he was never, ever, in a million years going to be good enough for us to hold down a regular starting place.

It’s a mark of just how far ahead of the rest of England this City team is.
So we strengthened a mid table team by selling him? Big deal. And good luck to Cole. He always came across as a nice enough lad when with us.
He didn’t even look good tonight!

There are people who think they're knowledgable about football who will say that the Chelsea-United game was a good game of football. That it was “exciting”, more than recent matches have been (and they're obviously aiming at one in particular). I saw that on the BBC site and I'm sure it's being said by people propping up the bar all over the country. I do not consider that a game based on a series of utter cock-ups compounded by luck is a good game of football, and the mere fact that there were seven goals largely due to mutual incompetence will never constitute a good game of football.
Absolutely. Talkshite just saying the Rags were good tonight. Utter fucking nonsense.

Well said.

I wish him well, just get annoyed with the blues acting like we've sold Messi on here.

It just hurts to think we could have had both. I have little doubt we'd be first in the league if Palmer were our RW this year.
He wouldn't get in our team on a regular basis..he's not got the discipline that our players need.
Like I say I like Palmer but he's playing in a poor Chelsea team that occasionally raise their game so he's bound to look better than the crap they have.

United fan growing up aswell. Time we all moved on.
He was just asked that question and said “when I was growing up”. It’s something that I was always intrigued about: a player playing for a different team than he supported as a kid. I think it changes their feelings towards the club.

He has 16 goals and 8 assists in the league. It was a mistake to sell there’s no two ways about it
Mate, half of those are penalties and Chelsea are tenth, which his overall play has contributed to (not completely down to him, but his deficiencies, which were on show tonight, have played a part along with their many other promising but raw/flawed players).

His overall game would ensure he would be nowhere near a regular starter under Pep.

I really don’t know how anyone can actually watch him play full matches and not understand that.

He was even poor tonight.
