PL charge City for alleged breaches of financial rules

The club don’t need to go after these no marks as once this is put to bed they will have nothing to cling onto in the hope their shit team in red can stop City. The boiling of piss will be fantastic and their realisation they expanded years of energy trying to call City cheats was all for nothing, leaving them for what they are. Howling at the moon conspiracy theorists.
I don’t think you can characterise Carragher as a ‘no mark’ in terms of his media footprint.

He said it all in his first line.
"Great question to be honest I haven't read up on it yet"
But still managed to rant and rave about it

I have a theory with Goldbridge.

I think considering Neil Ashton - former chief football writer of The Sun (owner of talkSPORT) is PR advisor to United. I think considering the size of his fan channels, to reel Goldbridge in a little and to use him as a narrative spinner to the supporters, he has offered him interviews with United players i.e. Hojlund, and got him a cushty job at talkSPORT in return.

Some United fans can't seem to understand his standing with Ten Hag and how he always seems to back him regardless, which hints that he has been possibly controlled in some way to spin a narrative.

I just think if a City fans channel grew that big, City would intervene in someway to control some of the narrative and offer exclusive bites here and there in return. That is what I think has happened with Goldbridge.

Likely wrong, but just a theory.
thats the logical conclusion I come to. I dont think its a theory either, it would be stupid for Utd, Talkport etc to not have control over the louder public voices. And Goldbridge has shown he will say anything for anyone.

I think and have seen exactly the same from G Neville, he basically has been towing the Utd line, engineering what he says to support the club. ITs something I would like our club to fight back on. I hoped City were using Stefan Borson the same way, we need to get our side of things out there. Everyone here says No, but the impact of us being quiet and our opposition clubs shouting Cheats from the rooftops means the only message (No matter if we are found innocent or guilty) is that we are cheats.

100% he is just a knobhead sitting in his bedroom with his pj's on that his mum bought him. He isn't thick he his good at playing to his audience and earning good money from the dippers and rags.

He talks bollocks like 99.99% of the press/media.

I really couldn't give a fuck what this knobhead says. Does he attend rags matches ? Nope he is just playing the rags and earning money from them.

Hats of to him, he has found an easy way to make a living better than labouring for 40hrs a week. But honestly why any City fan would listen to him is beyond me
Bellends are always best ignored.

When his accounts were published the other week it’s clear this grifter has become very wealthy. He’s certainly no bedroom YouTuber…… still a **** though.

This is the guy who said Haaland signed for the wrong club and he then proceeded to have a record breaking season. Unprofessionally brings a colleagues relationship into a conversation live on air, not to mention spitting at a girl in a car. He has no credibility as a pundit and as a broadcaster, why should the club waste time chasing him when they can be plotting what next the club can achieve.

Haven’t clicked on it, don’t need to as I know what the tedious **** will have said.

I hope, but don’t remotely expect the club to engage in a campaign of retribution against the most strident and egregious (and high profile) actors in defamation against the club once these preposterous charges are disproved.

Some, like Jordon are canny enough to stay (just) the right side of the line, but others (notably Carragher when he questioned the veracity of our accounts recently) have not and I just wish there were legal consequences for that, especially given the platform he was airing it on.

I’m not holding my breath though.
Legal consequences would be good but in the absence of that some physical consequences would work...

I think someone spouting that through a national broadcaster has a platform to cause reputational harm in a way that some no mark sat in their bedroom possibly can. A national broadcaster we have a contractual relationship with. There is a huge distinction in my eyes.

It’s a moot argument anyway as the club plainly agrees with you.

Edit: thinking about it, Sky would be the defendant, not Carragher, which makes a defamation claim impossible to conceive. Other pressure could be brought to bear, I guess. Anyway, as you say simply not going to happen.

Just out of interest, it's not just the likes of Carragher, Neville, Roan and Goldbridge who have crossed the line, but also Sky, the BBC and Talksport for broadcasting it? Could we (I don't mean the club, I mean concerned citizens) not put together a list of the various offenders/offences and distribute it to those organisations, along with a summary of the risks they are running by allowing those people to continue?

Yes, all things being equal, the broadcaster would be vicariously liable for what their presenter said. Can’t see the club doing anything like that though.

I think it is just possible for a fan to sue for defamation citing the libel as causing the fan mental anguish.
Bit of a stretch and costly. Ah well.

Would a City Scottish stand more chance of sucess, under teir new rules on hate speech?

Give me 2 minutes with this prick and he'll change his fucking tune alright. He'll be an arsehole with a new arsehole torn into him. I'd rip his head off and shit down his neck.
I prefer Citys approach allowing him to stew in his own piss, if we were remotely worried about clowns like this we would have reacted.
I'm pretty sure we will serve our revenge nice and cold.

True, him and all the other bitter 115ers will have their just desserts when we are exonerated of all the charges. There won't be a hole big enough for all these rats to scurry into because there will be the mother of all shitstorms landing on their collective heads.
