The BBC | Tim Davie resigns as Director General over Trump documentary edit (p 187)

Cunts on the left think it’s right-wing, and cunts on the right think it’s left-wing.

imo, it‘s fairly neutral politically, except in some respects, like the Royal Family. It’s embarrassingly pro-Royal. And ridiculously middle-class.

But overall, on the news and political side, I think it gets it about right.
I was watching FF for a few minutes yesterday and said to Mrs Ewing that a couple of decades ago the BBC would not have had the kind of accents I was hearing - straight from the banks of some estuary. Nothing middle class about them. Mind, how many of those BBC cunts have Edwardian houses in Norf Landan!

Jesus - watching BBC 2 - Geoff Norcott is on ( proving R/W comedians just are not funny. Take away their ability to be nasty and pick on minorities and its just - Meh )

He is looking at whether its worth putting money into Geoff Juniors Uni fund or should he steer him to going straight into work. Could be an interesting subject but its all stereotypes and tropes. Over paid vice chancellors, lazy students, huge fees and of course striking lecturers.

Norcott has a degree and is a former teacher - conclusion? He is spending the money on a new car.

BBC Accent rules.
1. No Manc twang.
2. Maximise Irish and Edinburgh accents.
3. Balance to be Estuary English.
4. ‘House‘ may be pronounced ‘Hice’ when one talks about one in the third person royal as in ‘One left one’s hice and tripped over one’s dog and hurt oneself.’

Actually, many of Gullis's constituents say "hice", as in "I live in a kind slice".

Clive Myrie the greatest news anchor and top bert is from bolton and you can tell when he speaks hebis from GM
Ben Thompson the main anchor in bbc news is from Radcliffe can also tell hebis a local.
The other main anchor is a Kiwi

and on their flagship news and sports radio channel OVO Nat is one of the main presenters.

The "twang" when overly prominent in a manc accent is usuallycwhen it is used as an affitation normally by someone outside the city boundries, people in places like Sale, urmston or worsley trying hard to sound local ;-)

BBC local tv news yesterday, Roger Johnson at tea time and 10.30;

‘The Tory MP has removed the whip himself after passing the phone numbers of fellow M.P.’s to a third party via a dating app’.

Jesus Christ, they’ve managed to reduce this serious potential risk to national security by making sound like an innocent accident anyone could make. It’s like everyone has completely forgotten that he sent pictures of his knob and was being blackmailed!

I have no doubt the government approved the wording before it was reported.

Define “edinburgh accent” because I don’t hear many Begbies on Tv.

The left believe the BBC has a right wing bias. The right believe it has a left wing bias. Assuming that the truth lies somewhere between, it suggests to me that the BBC have it just about right.
