knock phillips off that, but the rest is right
Thanks, as always, I know I keep asking but some need a reminder.
So that's still 1 on "NON HG" (I say that as Kalvin returns in the summer - that discussion is ongoing elsewhere).
Frimpong - I believe - would fall in the club bracket??
To sign 2/3 players we'll need to move others on, and that may prove to be either
1) unpopular - e.g. Bernie/Kev
2) difficult - e.g. Phillips/Gomez or Nunes

We have a difficult summer ahead based on the above

Yeah frimpong is club.

Phillips, Gomez, Bernardo and Walker will definitely go imo
I don't think it is a given Bernardo will go. There really aren't a lot of clubs in Europe (outside England) that can afford his release clause. I can't see him wanting to go to PSG.

At times it was like Bernardo was auditioning himself to everyone across Europe.

Barça are steadily rebuilding from a youth base, interspersed with ageing stars like Gundog & Lewandowski etc. I watched them against PSG tonight & they were very impressive in parts.

Apparently, Barça's early season problems were mainly defensive, but they seem to have sorted that department out. Affording Bernie is another matter though.

I also wouldn't discount interest from Real either. They've opted for youth, skill & pace in their recent acquisitions, but as we saw last night, they were lacking that wily guile that only a David Silva or a Luca Modric can bring.

Could Bernardo (who terrifies them), be a Modric replacement option? Modric certainly changed the complexion of the game when he came on, & it's up in the air whether he'll continue playing a managed bit part next season, or retire to Real's coaching staff.

After seeing Bernie's stadium tour video today, the thought of him leaving for anywhere other than his beloved Benfica for a career swansong, was breaking my heart.

However if they can afford him, I think the pull of an evolving Barça with Cancelo, Felíx, Gundog & Torres, plus Spain's weather, Iberian culture & proximity to Portugal might prove too much of a lure for him. Fuckin gutted...

I feel like with Bernado if you can’t afford him you should sell to raise the funds. If he’s available for 50m and wants to go to that club they’d be stupid not to go all in. Barca, Madrid, Athletico, PSG can all either afford that or sell players to then bid.

Benfica we might end up doing business with so is a chance.

If he went back to Benfica over the others I think I’d respect him even more.

What about Bernado to Girona? Has been no talk of this (probably because it would never happen) but with a release clause it is fair market value so can’t be done transferring between clubs. He gets his move to Spain and helps promote a CFG club.

Good refresh of the 1st team squad needed, getting the quality players in to replace will not be straight forward. We lost a lot of goals in the team when mahrez and gundog left along with their experience and ability.

I hope/think we will see Pep tweak how we attack - still retaining control and possession but look to move that ball quicker through the midfield to Haaland

Paqueta will be one of those signing and he can make those passes along with Phil.

Paqueta
Bruno
Frimpong
Olmo
Savio

Would be my choices. Picked Olmo over Neto based on injuries . Would love Kimmoch as well to be honest but if we got Bruno and Frimpong then we wouldn’t need him?

I think it was already planned for this summer mate with that number release clause being put in his contract? It basically just give him a thank pay rise for the season and a guarantee to go this summer

Not sure he does. Not if he wants Benfica at some point, he's 30 so anyone paying his release will want a few years from him making Benfica difficult.Where he can stay 2 more with us move to Benfica at 32 for nothing and finish his career there. I wouldn't be at all surprised if he is with us still next season.

I think PSG is the only viable option. Julian Laurens did say a few weeks ago that he is high on their transfer list for this summer.

-------------------------------Ederson------------------------------------
---------John/Akanji---------Ruben---------------Ake/Guardiol-----
--------------------Kimmich/Rico --------Rodri--------------------------
Paqueta/Bobb---Foden/KDB------Bruno/Neves-----Grealish/Doku
---------------------------Haaland/Alvarez-------------------------------

Important is to get Kimmich.
If walker goes, Pep will use similar system, he uses whenever Rico plays.
But Kimmich is world-class player and Rico will also learn a lot and get the minutes..
Plus, Kimmich can cover for Rodri..

If Bernardo goes, we definitely need Paqueta. He can play RW, like Grealish plays LW.
Control the ball, the tempo, etc. He can also play LCM / RCM, like Bernardo does.

That's the minimum for me, to maintain the level we have, in case Bernardo / Walker are gone.

After that it depends. If Kovacic goes, we definitely need someone and that young player from
Benfica will be a good investment for the future.

If Matheus also goes, in addition to Kovacic, then Bruno Guiamares is the perfect candidate
