Might be wrong on this, but I thought if Southampton don't go up his contract is up with us anyway and he can leave on a free (or sign an extension with us). Basically we get £20m if Southampton go up and he's a free agent if they don't.

£15mil and £20mil are bith good deals either way

You'd also assume that we have inserted some sort of % of the next transfer fee, pretty much par for the course for these deals for young players

Exactly. Looking at most deals apart from Tommy Doyle it’s 20% sell on and a buy back.
