They seem to have run out of heritage references. It is such an odd thing to do, that prominently. Has anyone ever felt proud of a phone number?

If they wanted to use some numbers then stick some Mersenne primes on it in homage to the Mark 1 and our incredible digital heritage. Better still a punched tape style graphic.

The 0161 is lazy as fuck and I'm actually quite annoyed by it, I think I need to get out more!

The area code is a very strange reference to be on the shirt at all, never mind so.prominently.
Maybe put a plan of the M60 around the badge.

Why not have the number ‘115’ instead of ‘0161’. It just seems more meaningful to the club and supporters.

Lazy is the best way to describe it. They would have been better off putting no 'reference' and just random patterns if that was the look they were going for, than 0161 imo. At least the previous references while even sometimes naff, were fairly quirky as thoughts.

Given the 0161 code goes up as far as Bury and down to Marple (and the raggies have an 0161 number too) it's a bit of a bizarre nod to our identity, or am I missing something?

I’d that maroon one is legit, that will be a thing of beauty. The collar and cuffs on the home one pretty much destroy it.

As always though when they’re on the players they will look good.

My reliable horse told me it was white pinstripes as a tribute to the Le Coq shirt under Sven.

It’s a copy of the 14/15 kit - which I didn’t like at the time - but worse given the dodgy text around the trim which catches the eye and irritates.

I don’t think dark colours on our home shirt work to be honest. Should just be a white trim with an occasional bit of maroon.

That said, I think the "0161 Manny on the map" stuff was about five years ago. Aitch seems to be having a moment but he's a red.

But I sometimes feel like the forums resident kid and I'm approaching 40 lol. But it is my duty to tell everyone that the 0161 stuff is (or was) cool.

Funnily enough, just yesterday 'the manc' Facebook page posted about it being a manchester derby final with the question who is bringing the trophy back to 0161?

I thought that was cringe as is the new kit.
