I'm going to a match tomorrow for the first time for over two years, having deferred our season tickets last year. Advance purchase of parking is sold out. What's the position re parking at the stadium? Is it only for advance purchase, or can I just turn up and pay at the gate?

So presumably it's down to turning up early and finding a place in one of the off-street matchday car parks then.

Best is by pedal bike. I'm no lycro warrior but can make it from the far side of Stretford to the gate in 35 mins, through all the static traffic. Not going to use the car again for this trip.

Put a bag over the seat and leave it in the bag drop cabin?

Seriously I've not seen any bike racks and wouldn't fancy leaving it chained up anyway, in the good old days the houses near Maine Road used to take them in but that's no help now.
Yep just looked on the OS and it says there are bike racks but left at your own risk, don't fancy the chances of it being there after the match

I usually park at the station and walk over. First time parking at the stadium, in Blue car park, because of the road closures. Does anyone know what time it opens and closes? I was hoping to get there early and leav late.

Thanks might give it a whirl, leads to the next question, are cycling helmets allowed in the ground
No idea, I'm afraid Gaz. I don't wear one. I get away with carrying in all my lights in the winter including an illuminated body harness which looks distinctly dodgy.

Crackin shout for the bike mate, no sitting in traffic, no car park and loads of spots for locking the bike up. Needn't have bothered locking mine, two coppers stood right next to it when I got back, told em maybe two of them was overkill but they insisted!!

Always used Sheffield Street for match day parking: £3.80 for 24 hours. Well, it was the last time I used it for Brentford game.

Rolled up today and I though, fcuk me, only 2 cars in there. Went up to the machine, put me reg in then the fee popped up, £5 for 8 hours or £7.00 for 24 hours. Couldn't see anything that had been done to justify such an increase.

Parked on Pollard St. instead.

What's happened to matchday parking. I usually get an email reminder for the next month's games but so far I haven't. The only bookable game on the website was yesterday's game at the Joie. Now the OS parking is stating that there are NO EVENTS. Has that Co-op Live Arena fucked us over for parking?
