At half-time at Palace, when the players were loitering in the tunnel, I was struck by the fact that Bernardo was deliberately going around the youngsters, Lewis, Bobb, and Alvarez, and giving them specific guidance and encouragement; they were all playing toward the right side of the pitch. He strikes me as really good with the youngsters, so I’m hoping we do sign Neves and that Bernardo is given responsibility for helping him bed in over the next two seasons. He can then go home and manage Benfica.
 
It is time we play Nunes as back up to Rodri, the last few minutes of matches, just to give him some identity, and to find out if he can hold down that position for next season, either way we should sign Grey from leeds.

Don't think pep will be using him there anytime soon after what happened v Luton. Goal difference could be crucial.

If we do keep him, it's the only position we should train him up to play. He's got the physicality, speed the odd trick & flick, it's just he generally does fuck all with it & he's shit in front of goal. There's far better CDM options out there, but if he has to remain, let's play him somewhere where he has two players behind him to mop up. Rodri & Fernandinho are hard acts to follow.

He doesn’t win a tackle! How’s he ever gonna replace Rodri??
 
If we signed Frimpong I don’t think he’d instantly start like Gvardiol didnt. Akanji as first choice RB is not a bad thing as it means we’d definitely be signing someone. Lewis is a good utility player but I see him more in the pivot role.

Think we try to do a deal for Bruno sending Phillips the other way. This benefits both teams.

Grealish isn’t going anywhere.

Bernado I think is definitely gone. That’s why we put the 50m release clause in, we know.

The 100m+ player is Musiala.

Ortega might go but for 30m. Just need a similar level replacement and think we would look for that.

If we signed Frimpong, maybe a CB, Bruno, Musiala and Paqueta.

Lost Bernado, Walker, Phillips, and Gomez you couldn’t complain.

How does Phillips benefit Newcastle?
West Ham even said that Phillips does not even look arsed to even play in the premier league.
Leeds only wants a loan if they get promoted, because they think based on his performances at West ham, he does not look like the player he once was. This means they do not want to risk buying him, then he ends up sucking, which leads to be being stuck with him for 5 or 6 years!
