City launch legal action against the Premier League | Club & PL reach settlement | Proceedings dropped (p1147)

Why are the Premier League and Uefa trying to stop the investment with owners like City and Newcastle it makes no sense, You would have thought the Premier League would love the best players in the world playing in the league to sell their TV rights.

Club Power from the Scum and their fear-mongering and threatening the smaller clubs to vote against City or we cut them off by getting smaller pieces of the pie,

This has to Stop and the Premier League members need to wake up and see they don't need United or Liverpool.
The so-called smaller clubs are the real reason the Premier League is the greatest League in the world because of them, Without them the romance is dead,

Wake you and smell the coffee, United and Liverpool don't care about you and use you to milk the league
Simple answer the premier league do not run the premier league

So Kevin Maguire has said that under the associated party rules min 3.20 , neither City or Newcastle can be sponsored by any businesses in the UAE or Saudi but other PL clubs can ?? Have i understood that correctly?? But other clubs can and have been sponsored by companies and even by their owners. And its backdated by three years. Clearly that is fundamentally wrong!
Martin Samuel has made this point. Newcastle can only make deals with Saudi companies that are at market value, if at al, whereas Manchester United could make a deal with the same company on any terms.l

The problem isn't that it it is market value, it's the PL's idea of market value.

How the fuck can they introduce a rule and then say 'oh by the way, that includes the last 3 years before we even invented it'?
Not a cat in hell's chance that gets passed a court of law.
so the speed limit last week went from 30 to 20 and everyone who did 30 over the last three years gets a ticket,, brainless tossers

There is a balance but you can't stop investment.

Clubs even top clubs used to be owned by the local millionaire businessman , that's long gone.

If you don't have a billionaire owning or controlling you , your simply not going to be successful , is that right or wrong, who knows.

The fact remains the billions coming into our league has created an incredible product the world wants to watch, the best players, best managers and the finest stadia and to maintain that you need competition.

We have seen Madrid in La Liga build an incredible stadium, just win their 15th CL to compete with that you need to invest.

I agree mainly I'm just saying it's easier to be spend what you like with our owner. Extremes are never good. I think especially early on a club should be able to invest to grow.

If Kieran Maguire has seen it, basically every journalist in the country has seen it.

Which means there’s absolutely no excuse for getting it so wrong, and that’s just going by how Maguire has explained it, a completely neutral opinion from someone who is qualified to talk about it.

It's one of the worst pieces of 'journalism' I've ever read.

Just love the bit of self-congratulation about their shitty paper having the best investigative journalists....preceded by a reference to the leak. He's so far up his own backside, there's little chance he'll see the irony.

He really does need to stick to table tennis :)
Even though his paper has the document it seems Syed has been too lazy to read it because he has got his facts all wrong. Kieran Maguire tells the truth on the podcast posted on here.

Long time reader....first time poster. I'm expecting to be branded a rag any moment!!! Bring it on.

It occurs to me that City and Newcastle could simply broker a mutually beneficial arrangement by which Etihad sponsor Newcastle and a Saudi equivalent sponsors City. It would boil an ocean of urine!
Cheat...Rag.

How on earth can you back date a rule change? What would that imply? We spent illegally during our 4 in a row? No fucking chance!
A total stitch up worse than the UEFA one

You can't and that isn't what they have done. And it's not at all true that City can't sign sponsorships with UAE companies.

What Maguire was talking about was a proposed temporary ban on sponsorships immediately after the Newcastle takeover. The proposal was voted down, or withdrawn at the last minute iirc.

That has nothing to do with the APT case, other than as an example of how rules are being targeted.

There's a part of me that has a strong feeling that Newcastle aren't overly keen on buddying up with City if they can avoid it
It's a little strange if they aren't since there appears to be a considerable degree of agreement that they are the prime target of these regs.

They testified as such at uefa. However, if my understanding is correct it wont matter a jot to the PL. It will be considered as related/not allowed. Game over, they hope!!
How about NETFLIX for shirt, academy,North Stand, sky walk and fan zone.....say £100 million ??

So, nearly a third of clubs have to sell players ASAP meaning they won’t get fair market value for them. No doubt Arsenal, Liverpool, Spurs & Utd will be there trying to get a deal and below market value.

Forced fire sales for Newcastle, Forest, Everton, Villa & Chelsea.

Surely things are going to get really really nasty here.

If Arsenal pinch Isaac or Watkins, those owners and fans are going to go mad.

The big bad City narrative may soon start to chill.
Unlikely, we'll still get blamed by the media.

Nah it’ll all be our fault
