City launch legal action against the Premier League | Club & PL reach settlement | Proceedings dropped (p1147)

Stop and think for a minute what this is all about. If you think this is purely a ‘related parties’ issue you are missing the wider picture. City have a global model where sponsorship is a cross club, multi continent, multi competition deal - tell me HOW the FA can measure that and decide what’s fair and isn’t fair. @tolmie's hairdoo has eluded to this and is spot on (and back to sleep for a few years for me, @tolmie's hairdoo - usual routes for conversation lol)

Not really ,not had any fan of other clubs say much about either case ,except the odd joke about playing in lower leagues. In fact the current case hasn’t been mentioned at all, since the initial leak. It’s more a media and social media thing than a real life thing.
Whilst all this shit is going on I'm more inclined to wear City stuff.

99.9% of people (OK I exagerated but a lot don't) don't care about football and those that do are generally interested in their own team.

An amazing article.

Amazing because it's a perfect description of the situation regarding City and the Premier League.

But why is there only one journalist willing or able to look at the situation objectively?

His colleagues should hang their heads in shame. Either they are too thick and or lazy to analyse the situation or they have zero integrity. Whatever the reason, they are a bunch of cunts.
Simple answer is they all support either united Liverpool or arsenal and he doesn’t. He isn’t a biased hypocritical wanker like the rest of them

Yeah agreed.

Great paragraph therein ……

“Remember, it’s only dirty oil money when it’s buying players for City. Not when it’s sponsoring Arsenal’s stadium, or is the longest-running commercial partnership at Old Trafford.”

How many of the morons / racists singling out City even realise this.

Lets not forget that sportswashing wasn't really a thing until Pep came in and repeatedly won things.

It wasn't mentioned when we were bought or won our first and second PL title.

The whole sportswashing, human rights thing is just from red shirt fanzine writers who can't stand that they're not winning anymore.

Almost all the loudmouths are redshirt fans and act as glorified fanzine writers, not journalists.

Most aren't from Manchester or liverpool but chose those teams when they were successful. Now they're not, they can't deal with it.

Getting scary all this vitriol now. How many blues are out there now worried about wearing a City shirt cos of knob heads?

Fuck all to be worried about. The cowards only pipe up behind a computer screen, even then they don't know what they talking about. Wear it with pride and hopefully it upsets the fuckers.

Fantastic article by Martin Samuel in the Times.
He gets it.

The sky won’t fall in even if Manchester City win their court case

It's so sad that it's so surprising to see an unbiased and non-sensationslist article with no agenda about our club.

Absolutely spot on from this man.Well said Villa.
That's why running the team as evolved to a coach and the business side has gone to a number
Not me, a bit OTT that tbh
I'm on holiday and I've purposely taken 4 city tops / shirts with me

The locals all acknowledge the shirt and the English all turn away avoiding eye contact it's hilarious

Everyone loves us except the English!

Martin Samuel puts the other spineless " journalists " who spew out their lies and hyperbole to absolute shame with an article of honesty and integrity.

The other click chasing whores who spread the lies which suit the redshirt and hanger on spurs clubs , demonstrate that any training undertaken to become " journalists " has been a waste due to their lack of personal sense of decency.

The PL is starting to split into different factions now. The red shirts did a good job of turning everyone against us but they’ve gone too far with a ridiculous number of clubs being investigated. Even the Italian league didn’t go to these lengths and some of their teams were outright bribing refs. This is just investment!

I hope…divide and conquer is the order of the day.

Never mind the sky falling in re the City case.

The sky will fall in on journalism the day Martin Samuel hangs up his typewriter (yes, I’m that old)

I emailed potato head Herbert and told him in no uncertain terms what a sell out he is, how immature his pieces are and how his racist employers seem to employ racist employees, also put a link of Mr Samuel's brilliantly written and balanced article.

Can you believe i got a near enough instant reply!!

It read like this.

"Ah yes, people like you.."...

Fuckin piss funny, emailed back asking if he needs help taking the hook out of his lip.

What a bellend.

They've never made sense and if they were challenged in a European court when UEFA first brought them in I'm sure they would have been scrapped long ago.

We all know exactly why these rules were rushed in and it was to protect the established European and English elite clubs at the top and ensure they stayed there. For the first twelve seasons of the premier league United won it eight times, Arsenal three and Blackburn once. Some fair competition eh? Of course clubs could spend what they wanted then and United and Arsenal being two of the richest did just that and as a result won the most trophies. Only Blackburn, backed by Jack Walker's millions broke the monopoly. Then came Chelsea and us. Panic ensued, new rules brought in. Happily too late to stop us, but what a hate and smear campaign since!
Great post mate - nutshell.

Compare Martin Samuel to Simon Jordan. It just shows how farcical and how clickbait-ish things like TS truly are. I would recommend all Blues should boycott it.

Ask Herbert if he has been brave enough to read Martin Samuel’s article and if so what does he think of real journalism.

If I am understanding this correctly one of the concerns we have with the changes made in Feb is that deals such as the Etihad and Esilat would be classed as associated deals and as such would be reviewed by the PL and could have their valuation down graded, they could also go back three years with this valuation.

Again, if I understand this correctly, lets say they reduce the value by £15 million per year that would mean a negative adjustment of £45 million. Given the PSR rules allow for a loss of £105 million it could make things very difficult for us.

If this is the case then no wonder we are challenging it.

They can't go back three years. It's not in the rules.
