City launch legal action against the Premier League | Club & PL reach settlement | Proceedings dropped (p1147)

Souness lives in the South Manchester area. He knows all the North West football Club Directors and has strong links with the business community because of his extensive charity work. He knows full well what has happened to City with the smear campaign. A lot of the people involved in the dirty tricks live near him in Cheshire. It's a small clique and they use the same bars and restaurants. That's why he speaks with authority on the subject.
Think sourness lives in Dorset

A thought occured to me today that I hadn't even considered before, lets say that the PL bring in the anchoring rule where the maximum a club can spend is say £650 million. How does that affect associated rules and fair market value?

If we as a club get to a point where we bring in say £800 million and agree to the cap at £650 million then surely the additional money we are unable to spend will go to the owners as a return on their investment.

So in effect the PL are trying to push rules that will limit what a business can earn regardless of if they can spend it. I cant quite understand how that could be legal.

Think the cap is 5 times the what the bottom team in premier make on tv money! So around 550m and in that you have to have all club player and Bonus wages in. Our was around 505m so that would be mean if the new PSR rules were in we could only spend 45m!

It means we have to get our wage bill lower and we have to ship out players before buying....

It's why they've changed the PSR rules AGAIN they are chasing us to curb us!

Thanks. Every football fan knows it's true but they don't care they just want us stopped at all costs. The truth doesn't come into it for them.
So true pal just the same old shit 115 oil money Mancini blah blah fucking blah let’s keep winning things and piss them off more CTID

In that case this is the end of the premier league as a major league.

I think this is the point though. For American owners don’t think long term and are out for short term profits. They see the money and think it will always be there. They don’t understand that the money came from the ability to attract the best players. By putting a cap on the money will lead to a reduction in the quality of players and therefore a diminution in the quality of the league in the long term. The Americans are used to assured success see NHL NFL NBA they don’t understand relegation they don’t understand qualification for CL they don’t understand a 20 team league. They certainly don’t care about our game the only reason they invest is to make money whereas other owners like us Newcastle have invested in clubs for completely different reasons. One thing is for sure if the TV deal monies dry up I can guarantee that the American will pull out of the UK quicker than a jack rabbit

I think that’s the plan, drive the premier league into oblivion & become the super league.

I said that six months ago when Everton and Forest were first being punished. If the PL wanted to destroy itself, and, in particular, its reputation with fans, so that the ESL suddenly seemed a good idea, they couldn't do a better job.

The only question is if Masters is doing it on purpose, or he is just an idiot.

if this is the case then masters deserves an oscar, an emmy and a bafta for being that good of an actor

I don’t think Masters is but I think he’s being played by the cartel, media lapdogs & parry. He’s surrounded & likely doesn’t have the opportunity to catch a breath & think things through. I’ve often said that incompetence is the best cover for corruption.

Its all seems to be heading down that path.

We, as fans, dont have a clue what the powers that be are truly up to - we can only speculate and put ideas forward for discussion.

Its not beyond the realm of possibility, that the PL has grown so powerful over the other leagues that there are now motions in play, so that the alternative is the ESL

Day three of my pursuit to fight back on Facebook. Two main things.
Dipper boy has not come back since I outed him on “all the serious charges were time barred.”
But this one is potentially my all time favourite.

“City’s chairman already owns one country and now he’s trying to take over the UK”
Clearly that person doesn't own a brain cell.

Found this interesting from ‘The Sponsor’ dated June 24. Shows what they believe to be fair market value.

According to the article we are overvalued on the main Etihad deal by £2.7m pa.

Not a train smash you might think but what’s the betting we went in asking for more for this deal and were knocked back.

Another interesting facet is that the article suggests Utd are massively undervalued and the usual red top suspects deserve the best deals coz of their istory etc.

If the value of the rags should always be very high because of their history, can someone inform the New York Stock Exchange?
