Foden more involved than Bellingham 2nd half

Always the way, because he spends the first half playing Roy of the rovers type stuff

Did the same against us in the champions league, and gets brought off in both legs

Foden helps control a game if you give him the ball, Bellingham is still naive enough to think running around a lot is the key to winning big games

Good to start with a win. But a hard watch in the second half especially.
We‘ve got no-one who can play with Rice - should be Bellingham, absolute no-brainer. But we‘re going to be stuck with Alexander-Arnold, Gallagher, Mainoo etc. To be honest Wharton may be the best bet.
Poor in-game management by Southgate. No idea of how to regain control of a game, other than throwing runners on.

I agree, but the midfield seems completely reluctant/scared to show up for the ball when Pickford has it, so he's forced to boot it long.

First half hour excellent but after that it was like watching lower league football..........misplaced passes long ball punts must improve a lot more if we are to do anything ...........sadly with Southgate at the helm we are gonna see yet another wasted tournament..........no doubt certain players will be highlighted of having poor games when only a select few did well ...........

The players seemed reluctant to pass to Foden.

Having said that Foden needs to take the games by himself like he did for City this season.

Was too happy to lay it off for others to do stuff.

He knows the value of keeping the ball and patience - most of the rest of the England team don’t, including the goalkeeper.
Certain other players want to “do something” showy every time, when it’s not always on.
