Agreed. About 2.5 years younger and in my opinion already a better player. I’m a big fan of Bruno G, so that says more about Vitinha than Bruno

I'd suggest the reluctance to strike on Guimaraes indicates there is another.

No club was ever going to consider touching that £100m release clause to be fair. It was very much a 'fuck off' price from Newcastle. Doesn't mean we can't still sign Guimaraes, but it'd be a difficult transfer to negotiate without the player directly handing in a transfer request. One thing we can offer Bruno is European football, as well as the chance to play as a midfielder under Pep, so there's definitely a chance we can turn his head.

But like you said, there's certainly other midfielders that Txiki and City's scouts will have identified as good candidates to bolster the midfield. Purely spitballing here, but I'd bet Kimmich, Zubimendi, and Joao Neves are all on the short-list. And at the bottom of the list, in small print, is Musiala (just in case).
