Wimbledon 2024

Murray is out of the singles
I feel sorry for his brother. Jamie has won 7 Grand slam doubles championships and many others but all the attention will go to Andy Murray whose ego won’t allow him to say he’s retiring and then just go. No he wants the big fuss, never mind whoever was going to play doubles with Jamie losing out! Plus of course if they win all the kudos will be Andy wins his last Wimbledon. JMHO

Or am I being too harsh on him?

Jamie is a big boy, i'm sure he's thrilled to be playing with his brother at Wimbledon and is more than capable of saying he wants to play with another doubles specialist instead.

And as it now turns out, as disappointed as he will be for Andy that he isn't going to get another crack at the singles, to be part of his brothers farewell will be a wonderful moment for them both.

A little bit harsh I think. His world rankings have actually been improving up until this year, into the 30s at one point, and he wanted to go out at Wimbledon while he still had some fight left in him, which he has deserved in my view. Likely to be his last match and his brother probably offered him the chance.

Alcaraz is about to play on Centre Court.

He should have a storming tournament (*gets knocked out in this match).

Great player to watch and could be well on his way to being the next tennis superstar.
Seems like a really pleasant lad too.

I played padel tnneis the other week (much quicker learning curve than tennis) but it made me want to play 'big tennis' again so I've dusted off my Wilson....just need to join a club again now.

It’s a fuckin hell hole here today.
Always been busy but this is a different level. Never again

Now this is the Raducanu we all wanted to see, The aggression, The anger, The fight, The skill.
It's still early and better-quality players to come but she's looking good

She looks a lot better I know she’s had injuries and so forth, but I always found it strange after her US Open win that she parted company with her coach,if it’s not broke don’t fix springs to mind ..

Look at all those empty green seats. If they were blue and it was Manchester then it looks like City.

Raducanu was excellent today. Her serve and return of serve both went up a notch from the erratic performance of two days ago. She found some great angles on her ground strokes. You could see the confidence growing with each game as she smiled throughout. Still some way to go but there were glimpses of her best form.
Sonay Kartal was the first British woman to win today and will play Gauf in the next round.

It was not just one coach after the US but about 2 or 3, Yes injury set her back and questions on did she still wanted it and put the hard yards in, After today's win she is looking good, But the next game is when you can start to see a path into the later rounds and you start to feel the pressure,

Very Good Win
