Irish Current Affairs

The wonder of social media and the Norn iron sense of humour. My whatsapps lit up yesterday with meme's.
Made me wonder at how they actually managed to "swoop" to make the arrests. He would be bound to have a PPW and alot of security and so would imagine that they had to almost advise that they were going and to be allowed in.
Reckon Jim Allister will be rubbing his hands at a possible influx of members

Telegraph have confirmed it's him and all of his social media has gone down.

Front page of BBC news now.
From memory, wasn't his wife at the centre of some controversy years ago, something about a loan to some young bloke to set up a restaurant, IIRC? Also, rumours that she was on very good terms with the bloke.

Think you might be thinking of Peter Robinson's wife

NI current affairs.
DUP down.
Sinn Fein up.

Will it make any difference?

Edit:
Local elections down south, Sinn Fein suffered losses.

Happy 12th of July to all our brothers and sisters in Northern Ireland.
My calendar on IPhone automatically tells me every year that today is the anniversary of the Battle of the Boyne.

Fucks me off. I have no issue with history but I’d prefer to choose for myself which bits of history I commemorate

Whatever you want. Not really sure what your stance is.

From my own interests, whatever the future of Ireland, it’s going to take acceptance of other traditions and integration of both sides into those traditions and thinking outside the current norms to make anything work.

That statement is aimed at both sides of history in NI and the Rep.

Perhaps you just have Bank Holidays selected on your iPhone calendars?

None imo just other side of the same coin. I wish they'd look at healthcare, housing, poverty, education etc etc rather than a them un's and whataboutery approach. That goes for both sides btw

I don’t have an option for that. It’s just “UK holidays “. Which I want so I know when Easter falls next year for instance. Was yesterday a public holiday where you are?

Can't you just turn it off and then look up the dates and put them in yourself (once a year), apart from battle of the Boyne?
