Unfortunately England give their all but fell short, for me it’s a combination of things manager mentality and certain players Pickford being one ( although he did make a couple of good saves it’s his distribution that’s the problem) ..As for Kane he honestly must be cursed any side with him in won’t win fuck all thank fuck we didn’t get him ..

There's definitely beef between St fucking Jude and Phil, Bellend never looks for him, can't remember him passing to Phil all tournament
For the equaliser I thought Bellingham showed he can play the right, quick ball, for the assist. He’s more than capable.
But if that had been Foden coming on to the box rather than Palmer, you just know he wouldn’t have done the same. He’d try to control it and turn for a shot with three men around him. You just know he would.

He’s a good player but he needs stronger coaching than he’s getting with England.
He needs to know it’s not about him. It’s team first always.

I kept screaming at the telly every time he kicked it out/to their keeper/to their defenders/for a 70/30 Spanish ball. Just why? Roll it out and build, it was so infuriating
Got to come from Southgate that though. It might work occasionally but only if you have the runners to support the man challenging the header and looking to win the second ball. It occasionally works against us.

We didn’t have those players so it was never going to work.

Because he was shite against Iceland and your manager left out a player that played well in a friendly.
The only thing he done was run the ball out of play in his few minutes played.
Jack had a poor season but he would have been a better option than that ****.
That's fair. I guess my point is that, we aren't any good playing only middle and right side of field. There was no rotation forward on left. So yeah, Grealish would have been better. But not at least trying to widen the pitch is pretty shortsighted.

Englands football structure is abysmal... serial failures with the talent they have to hand. Southgate took players who were unfit and it showed. Consistently picks his favourites as opposed to the best players for the task in hand. The strikers he had there were all better than Kane toward the end of the Season. Shaw hasn't played a club game since February. Drops Grealish when every one of the England Euro matches was screaming out for a Grealish type player... the squad Southgate had/has should be world beaters... none of their games came anywhere close to being a world beating performance the way they were set up and asked to play.
the structure has been broke for decades going as far back as when they wouldnt ask Bran Clough to do the job, they set the president then all those years ago

Ok. I will admit it. I am a bit sad this evening. I once cared very much about England. I still to this day remember being devastated that afternoon that England chucked away a two-goal lead in Mexico. Even in 1990, it took me months to get over that defeat.
Thing is, time is now going by, and I realise that seeing England win something is very probably not on the cards for me.

The thing is you can excuse all the players on the grounds that the manager was tactically inept.

A lot is down to the weird insistence to shoehorn Bellingham in the number 10 role and let his ego run amok. He's obviously a talented player but he became a detriment to the side rather than an asset because of weak management. Grealish was dropped then we seemed to start the tournament in a system that was crying out for his qualities. I don't think we got the best out of a single player in that squad.

Got to come from Southgate that though. It might work occasionally but only if you have the runners to support the man challenging for the second ball. We didn’t so it was never going to work.

Agreed. I remember when Kane used to win those headers. Seemed he couldn’t jump tonight. And as you say, no runners off him either. Coaching. But let’s keep Southgate on for the World Cup eh…

……..and more to come
Ha! Let's see. Anyway far too soon for that banter! Let's see off the Dippers and Rags first so they're out of the picture, then we will see.

I suspect City and Arsenal will have a load of knackered players for the start of the season after the Euros so I'd not be surprised if we both make a slow start and the match at the Etihad early in the season might be played at a snails pace by walking wounded. Maybe we can borrow some of that 'asthma' medicine the Dippers use.

Time for Pickford, Walker, Rice, and Kane to be moved on. Time for the likes of Ramsdale, Trent Alexander-Arnold, Wharton, Palmer, Foden, and Watkins to be considered senior players. Bellingham should be played as a false nine or a deep-lying midfielder and nothing else.

But, crucially, it's time for Southgate to be moved on. He's taken this team as far as he can. He's improved the mood around the England set-up tenfold after the disastrous McClaren/Capello/Hodgson era, and he's laid a good foundation for whoever comes in next, but someone else does need to come in.

We have no number 9 to hold the ball up and no attackers willing to run beyond... So what was the fucking point?!

I don't understand what the game plan was ? Kane never once won the ball or even tried to hold it up, did we have any runners off the ball, 1 in the first half with Saka and Walker overlapping,

You Know What ??? It was School Boys vs Old Men playing 1970s football, Modern football the green stuff (the grass) is for playing football on the, Southgate needs a muddy waterlog pitch and we may have a chance
