The defender just making a huge mistake, especially as the ball was going nowhere near the French player that he rugby tackled down in the box.
 
Carlin gets the bronze. That's 5 medals today.

Almost guaranteed one in the heptathlon and a chance in the women's 400m.

Unbelievably wasteful in front of goal this half.

We’ve had three or four good chances to put the match to bed, and then another to win it at the death, all squandered.
 
GB are temporarily above France in the medal table now, although they'll go back ahead after the football (although we'll go back ahead if Johnson-Thompson matches or beats the French result in the heptathlon)
 
Our entire team are young lads, so they’re still learning, and this will be great experience for them on how not to manage a big match you are winning.
