Community Shield | Post-Match Thread

And we just witnessed how the very important game at the beginning of the season turned into a glorified friendly at best. Blame Evans and Akanji.

Bobb the only one who produced goods worth attention; Rico not bad, the rest .... fill your own excuses. We actually looked better in the MF before 'Reilly went off.

Considering the team and the subs it was bearable to watch, there are two worrying things for me.

We are starting the season with the first 12-13 players having no meaningful pre-season game preparation.

And Haaland up front against the teams defending...I just cannot watch it anymore.
Is this a clarkie ?

Thank Christ for that!
A more important result than many on here give credit. A lot of prior circling of the caravans to offset a possible loss. "Irrelevant", "meaningless" coping mechanism.
Clearly the players didn't think so, judging by their reactions and interviews.
A decent moral booster and better than losing 2 Wembley televised matches in quick succession to our hated rivals.
Doesn't mean it effects the season's outcome - we'll no shit Sherlock!
Impossible to quantify though - who's to say it didn't boost Arsenal's confidence last year? Easy to dismiss as meaningless, but who knows.

Not yet match fit but thats to be expected, key players to come back and a couple of weeks of the transfer window still open with cash in the bank.

The biggest positive though for me was that the lads who have come through the academy held there own against a strong Rag side, clear to see the progression path. My only concern is that we still don's seem to be able to get Haaland into the games as much as we would like.

With Doku, Grealish, Savio and Bobb we are going to cause some havoc this season.

McCoist's co-comentary was insufferable.
His penalty shoot-out comm was utterly embarrasing. Said Bernie's pen lacked conviction, yet when one or two others took identical kicks and scored, the pens were cool and well-placed.
