Basically, if you play against Arsenal you're not playing in this.

So a full 2nd team, could still be fun to go to, as long as City price it correctly!
 
I wonder why it wasn't mandated that we had to be away in this round?

As we quite clearly couldn't fulfill a home fixture.

I wonder whether City with a 2nd XI at home was deemed a better opportunity than a stronger XI away on the Wednesday. I still think we should be looking to win either way.

Well obviously try and win. Pep would never accept anything else.

If we lose, Pep won’t be as mad though. He’d 100% blame the scheduling.
 
It's like the other year at Xmas / New Year when we had about 50 between the end of one match and the beginning of another. Everyone said it was mad and shouldn't happen again but here we are. Will anyone come out and explain why we aren't playing Wednesday or is it a simple case of the rags playing Wednesday so GMP said tough you are on a Tuesday.
 
Guess it’ll be Ortega, O’Reilly, Nunes, McAtee and seven others. If we don’t have any fresh injuries then we can probably put out a reasonable side, decent enough to win anyway.

I suspect that UEFA may be playing a part in this. It’s very possible that you’re not allowed to play a domestic game on the same night in the same city as a game in one of their competitions.
Why the rags game couldn’t be scheduled for Thursday when there was the possibility of this scenario occurring is what I’d like to know.

Then something like this should still be too strong for Watford

For those wondering how Foden and Rodri get back in the team, this game is the perfect opportunity to remind Pep of their talents.

Josh Wilson-Esbrand too.
 
Hopefully this is now the death knell for teams in Europe playing in this competition. Assuming no European qualified teams played then the winners would definitely qualify the following season and a few more teams would have a day out at Wembley. It might also stop mid table and championship sides playing their third teams in it!
