North Stand Construction Discussion

A quick.picture from Joe Mercer Way with the fans going to the game.

I took a few pictures of the brick work mock-up. I'll post the pictures tomorrow.

Apart from that there's really not much difference from my last set of pictures bar the hotel floors increasing in height.

Looking back at one of the old pics, I’m surprised there’s so much groundwork going on for the base of the towers. It looks as though they did a lot of prep before any of the steel went up.

Not in the area they are doing now though, which is underneath the cantilever. You can see the circles where the old founds were for the rear cable stays in that picture, that they couldn't work around.

See below, the solid purple is the towers built so far, dashed purple is the cantilever and area below it they are doing groundworks in just now. Each side has 5 stair cores, two lifts and two risers. Plus the steel foundations. Not an insignificant amount to pile (which is done now I think) pour and waterproof, with limited headroom.

That view when finished will look glorious, incredible the size and quality of this development.

Not a construction expert, but I would love to see what it will look like, behind the hotel as the covered area between the south stand and the hotel exits at the east stand (as I looked at it yesterday).

I'm assuming that you can walk through the new fan zone (with the hotel on the left and offices on the right) and then turn right for the CB stand or left for the east stand ?

I know Stephen(SS Skies) well, his videos are usually decent and he said he will try and get there more regularly while im away on holiday so you should still get regular updates
