President Trump

A lot of people are saying Yale have asked for his certificates back.
I mean thirty years ago we made A MOVIE WITH A SCENE ABOUT HOW FUNNY IT IS WHEN PEOPLE DON'T KNOW HOW TO PRONOUNCE HAITI OR HAITIANS.

It was a movie about a clueless and ditzy (but beautiful and loveable, which Vance is not) SoCal high schooler.

Ironically, Alicia Silverstone IRL actually didn't know how to pronounce "Haitians", but her mistake made the scene much funnier, so Penelope Spheeris left the take as is in.

To be to fair to Alicia Stevenson, she just assumed that it was read phonetically rather than as an S sounding T.

It's also dumber to mispronounce the country when that's far more commonly used than the demonym.

Also to be fair to her, she was a 20-something actress/model, not a Yale-degree holding author/senator running for Vice President and tying his campaign to THE HAITIAN PEOPLE.

Vance has fucked away any shred of credibility he ever had, and for what?

The approval of a mad man and his fucked-up deluded followers?

I hope it was worth it JD you pathetic ****.

He was a VC errand boy for a conspiracy nut with enough money to make Vance a Senator. Fucking nauseating that these two moral-free cunts are even still in the race, but they’ll get 70M votes even after showing their anti-Semitic, racist arses…perhaps even BECAUSE they did!

That sounds like that if he hadn't lost credibility he'd have been just fine.

I’d say there’s a third group who aren’t specifically interested in policy other than ones that will make them money and will vote for Trump if they become richer as a result.

This is not a subject I am an expert on but have been following and listening to
Podcasts on the election interviewing individuals heavily involved in the election process.

There also seems to be a fourth group:

Republicans (who could shift sides) and swing voters who see immigration and the economy, esp the cost of living crisis, as the two most important issues and don’t think
Kamala Harris has communicated a solution to resolve these issues. Although they don’t like Trumps rhetoric they would accept his boorish behaviour as these two issues supersede all others.

I'd put all Trump voters into 2 camps:-

1 the low education / easily conned dumb ass base. They watch fox news and like what they see. They shut out everything that challenges the simple safe traditional values they are advocating (ignoring the negatives like blatant racism and misogyn). Most evangelicals fit this type.

2 the smart but cynical right wing self centred types who know that Trump is a grifter and compulsive liar but they don't have a problem with it as they are on board with the broad program of divisive and regressive politics and a government that doesn't function well (many would prefer no federal government or taxes at all).
You nailed it.
