FC United thread

Don't put yourself down so!! Oh.......you mean Le Fondre :-)

Haha, he was someone who liked to pick on (at the time smaller/younger people)

On his podcast, David Mooney told the story of him turning out at Powerleague Stockport, playing against very amateur players to make himself look brilliant

TBF he was good at football, But that doesn't surprise me one bit

They still don’t get it……
Cannot stand this club as they are an ego-driven bunch of opportunists who have conned Manchester City Council since their formation.
They have also ripped-off their own members and fans.
But, they have done a very good job, previously, in marketing their club.
However, this billboard is just a homage to the brilliant City/Tevez piss-take that wound up the GPC.
Love it...

Ha ha a friend sent me this from Saturday’s Evening News!
They’ll be seething about this and maybe even forward a reply……
Funny thing is the name of the writer - Tony Watts. Or T.Watts lol

Perhaps the council should show the members of £cum how much of the debt they clear each week.

It was that fucking brilliant! Them & big scum have tried to copy it & fail so many times. They still don’t get it & it fucking devastated them.

As I’ve said before, the best piece of marketing Manchester City - or maybe any football club - has ever done.

And it was made even more valuable, unknowingly, by the pisscan, and his "noisy neighbours" jibe.

He thought he was belittling us (again), when, in fact, he was making us more visible and famous throughout the world, just when we needed the publicity to kick-start HRH's revolution.

So, for that, we should be eternally grateful to the Glaswegian bully.

They had lots of friends in the media and they used them well.
They rode the crest of the wave of the sycophantic headlines and the masturbatory ramblings that the likes of Conn lavished on them and reveled in their ‘Rebels’ status and believed their own hype with all this Punk Football nonsense as well as believing in ridiculous soundbites like “Our Club, Our Rules” and genuinely thought they could try it on by refusing to appear live on TV until having their arses spanked and told to “shut the fuck up and play when you are told to play”.
And when it went tits up the media gave them the same pass that they give the Scousers when they get up to no good - too afraid to report it.
Journalists too concerned that their reputation would be tarnished and too embarrassed to admit that they’d been had over and (if you excuse the pun) that like David Conn, many of them had been conned!
And this is why they are going for a re-brand. Because they’ve been sussed out by those they easily fooled. They have no allies left in the media prepared to bang their drum. On top of that, finally, the council have opened their eyes and have closed the cash machine down. They are now having to stand on their own two feet so let’s see how long they remain upright.

Punk music was so middle class it says it all.

Completely agree.
But there are still innocents out there (usually from outside the UK) who naively believe they are a successful, co-operative, well run club...

The rags?

Or the splitters?

Or both?
Fair point.
Think that Scruffy Jim has tried to win over the media with the new stadium "smoke & mirrors".
Obviously the "Wembley of the North" will benefit everyone ?
No mention of making people redundant and cutting back on their Wembley trip travel subsidy.
But, FCUM, apart maybe on this forum, seem to have kept their internal scandals and huge financial scams, hidden.
Many non-league fans outside the Greater Manchester area think they have been relatively successful. They are not aware of their corrupt back story...
