Rodri Injury Updates | City say ligament injury (pg117)

Kovacic and Bernardo have done a great job so far. Just worry how reliable Kova is as he seems to pick up injuries. I think this means more time for Lewis as he's been great in adding to the numbers in the middle from RB with Akanji covering him.

We've stared 4 games without him this season and won the lot. We missed kdb for 6 months last season and it never affected us. The more you doubt this squad the more they make you look stupid.
KDB was not out for 6 months. His return helped us win the Newcastle away game in January. Rodri is potentially out for the whole season. We haven't had him missing too many games, so fingers crossed.

Gutted for Rodri personally because this means Vinicius Jr. will probably take the Balon d'Or, and at 28 he's no spring chicken anymore which means he probably won't be the same when he comes back. But we'll be alright. We've already made history, at worst this season we'll be finishing in the top four and going for all the cups. And we still have a squad that's more capable of winning this league, even without Rodri - it won't be comfortable but it'll be fun.
Why? It’s not being awarded for this coming season ??

We lost Kev last season for 5 months and we adapted and coped. We had no striker for a whole season and adapted and still won. It’s fucking shite news, but we’ll still be right in the mix for everything.

No bones about it, this is a hammer blow. Nothing we can do about it now but hope we can fill the gap. Gundo and Kovacic seems the best option but we're going to be relying a lot on 33 year old legs. Signing Bruno wouldn't have mattered though, because he's fucking dross anyway.

A certain fan base outing themselves as absolute cunts as well, literally celebrating another person getting hurt, grim.
there are hundreds, probably thousands arsenal fans celebrating since last night, the most obnoxious fanbase in the world.

Do we have to carry on pretending that a perfect "Rodri back-up" even exists? There's literally no player in world football who would happily sit out all the games Rodri plays and then bring his absolute best on the rare occasions he'd get to start. You could point at literally any player in the squad (except Ederson) and say "We should have signed a proper back-up" if they were to ever get injured long-term.

We have Kovacic, Gundogan, Lewis, Stones, and even Gvardiol, who can fill in here. Of the many things Pep has mastered over the years with City, it's doing a heck of a lot with a small squad when big injuries arise. Mendy, De Bruyne, Laporte, now Rodri. We've seen in the early weeks of 24/25 that we can win well without Rodri and the January window isn't far away. You imagine we'll be looking at the likes of Kimmich or Bruno G then.

Once we get Newcastle out of the way we don't have a truly difficult game till Spurs on Nov 23. We should be able to get a system that works in place by then.

December is when it really gets tough..
Dippers away Dec 1
Palace away Dec 7
Juve away Dec 11
Rag Derby Dec 14
Villa away Dec 21

its not confirmed. Espn reporting an unquoted source and Pol Ballus reporting ‘lengthy lay off’ conflicts with what the report was earlier
