Middle East Conflict | Netanyahu orders strikes on Gaza (p1161)

The first question is answered.

The IOF (Israel Occupational Forces) is the term to redefine IDF. The acronym IOF was first referred to by former IDF themselves. Not Palestinians, not Arabs, not non-Jews. But Jewish soldier reservists years before 7th October.

Impressive you opt to mention ‘red herring’. I thought you are pro zionism, but you rather double entrende by red heifer.

On the fourth, ah, armchair critic personified. Sad.
Question one was can you clarify the date in October when IDF opened fire in the Metula area?

I can't see where you have given me an actual date, apologies if I have missed it.

IOF is used predominantly by anti semites who think it's really funny, it's not it just shows people's true colours

I have no idea what you mean when you say ' you rather double entrende by red heifer'. The point is you can't really be moaning that Israel is using more force. Diddums the heavyweight boxer punches harder.

Armchair critic? Not really just telling you how it is. Do you believe a civilian house or a school or a mosque that has arms and terrorists in it is a military target or not? What about a music festival,is that a military target?

If you’re not armchair critic nor a UKLFI, then debate with the former IOFs who are certainly not armchair too. Nadav Bigelsman and thousands others, they have mentioned of the IOFs since more than 10 years ago, add that to 20 for former IOFs of the early 2000s who were under the rule of sheriff settlers.

For clarity, from a former IOF perspective of how dehumanized thoughts are impossible to de-indoctrinate, ask those like him and listen to their point of view.

Man's Inhumanity to Man

by Robert Burns
Many and sharp the numerous ills
Inwoven with our frame;
More pointed still, we make ourselves
Regret, remorse and shame;
And man, whose heaven-erected face
The smiles of love adorn,
Man's inhumanity to man,
Makes countless thousands mourn.

Still haven't answered the question one.

Thanks for the tip about former IDF soldiers but I can do that any day of the week and I can also talk to a Battalion Commander if I wish.

Trans Jordan was a part of Palestine.

In 1920, the World War I Allies conferred on Britain a Mandate to govern Palestine, an area on both sides of the Jordan River that had been part of the Ottoman Empire. This Mandate, confirmed by the League of Nations in 1922, remained unchanged during the League's lifetime. Though the Mandate incorporated Britain's 1917 commitment to provide a homeland in Palestine for the Jews - the Balfour Declaration - the Mandate did not provide a homeland for Arabs living there, though it did protect their ''civil and religious'' but not political rights. Two months after the League approved the Mandate, the British Colonial Secretary, Winston Churchill, changed the rules and the picture. He created the Emirate of Transjordan, installing the Hashemite Abdullah, Hussein's grandfather, as Emir of all the land east of the Jordan River.
While Britain had the mandate of the territory on both sides of the Jordan they were administered separately.
And when the plan to partition Palestine into two countries, it did not include Transjordan.

The US thought they had agreement with Israel on a 21 day ceasefire with Lebanon and did a bit of media briefing. Seems Netanyahu changed his mind on the plane over to New York. Needless to say the yanks aren’t best pleased.

Most yanks aren’t best pleased, except for those who earns side-income from AIPAC and CUFI.

Easy riches.

I fully agree with the two state solution.
The issue has always been whether both sides would agree to live side by side in peace.

Anyone pushing for a ceasefire now is being disingenuous.
They had eleven months since October 8, 2023 to push for a ceasefire but did nothing.
As soon as Israel starts to respond to the constant rocket barrages from Hezbollah, then suddenly, now they want a ceasefire.
Why are people placing these types of burden on Israel? Which other country in the West would accept such a deal?
In my opinion, this constant call for ceasefire anytime Israel ups the ante is one reason why there's been no peace in the region.
The terrorists know that if they stir up trouble, they can always count on the sympathy of the West to pressure Israel for a ceasefire. They do this by showing endless videos/pictures of mangled corpse of children and women.
Israel refused any ceasefire with Hamas and continued with the war in Gaza. As a result, rocket attacks have stopped coming into Israel.
Let Israel deal with Hezbollah. Hopefully, their military capabilities would be downgraded to a level which would allow the Lebanese military to step in and assume full security responsibility of the country.

It’s not the people who are the problem, it’s the leaders on all sides.

From a practical point of view the easiest solution would be to let Israel have Gaza, where they will have a contiguous coast from Egypt to Lebanon.
In return the West Bank becomes the state of Palestine. I don't know how they'd feel not having sea. But obviously some give and take is needed.

Jerusalem would have to be a separate issue.

The problem is Israel is now overextending militarily into another country and they're going to kill a lot of Lebanese people.

But are they going to beat Hezbollah? Hezbollah have been deeply embedded within Lebanon for decades and certainly in Beirut. So what are they going to do? Level Beirut as they've done to Gaza?

What if Hezbollah moved to London, would we allow them to bomb London and kill British people?

A line has to be drawn and they're pushing the boundaries too far. I understand securing the border but violating another's airspace to bomb their capital and risk civilians as collateral.. It's going too far now.

What would you suggest that Israel should do in order to stop the rockets coming from Lebanon?

Not really a concern for some on this thread and those in power.

Do you think Bombing will stop rockets coming from Lebanon long run? or do you think it will create more martyr's and bad blood and increase the chances of rockets later?
