@shemnel fair enough but how does being sponsored by anybody, not just the rags, improve their sales ?
Etihad was relatively unknown in a commercial world where you need to be known. Snapdragon will still be used in phones etc despite the sponsorship so surely it's wasted money ?
SnapDragon is a brand of Qualcomm making chipsets for devices ranking behind Apple, AMD and Intel. Somewhat confusing as it's not a commercial brand as such and the public are unlikely to know or care what is powering their device. Could be a vanity decision as the cost of $76M is not a large amount of money for Qualcomm. They have also sponsored the home field of San Diego State football (Snapdragon Stadium), the Mercedes-AMG Petronas F1team, Padres, Live Nation and a major mobile esports league (the ESL Snapdragon Pro Series.
Maybe they want in on the expected future virtual viewing of sports, getting their name out there will help them get a foothold in a multi billion value market?

it was a yellow card for me. it wasn't reckless, it had zero force behind it and it wasn't endangering the player. Martinez's tackle last week on the other hand ticked all these but got away with it.
Kavanagh and the VAR disagree with you

Which makes them spaffing £65m on sponsoring united all the more baffling.

Surely all those involved in parts procurement for the big phone, laptop, tablet manufacturers will already be fully aware of who Snapdragon are and what they produce.

It must purely be a vanity exercise for Snapdragon as I can't see how it makes any business sense.

Sounds like the PL should be investigating this " deal " as it brings absolutely no clear reason for such a sponsorship .

Another way around their own rules on P and SR for the favoured clubs ?

McTominay was good for a few goals & he’s now sat top of serie A, Sancho with Chelsea, The ladyboy in Saudi yet they kept Rashford & Hojlund & Anthony.
They sold MCTom as being an academy product his value was 100% on the books helping with their PSR Its ironic that they supported Ten Hag with more spending which outs them in a predicament as it will cost to ack him and his staff and then recruiting the new manager (12th since GPC) will mean they will be looking at out of work ones or faced with compensation and the new man will be told there is no budget, its their John Bond

Hilarious isnt it.

It's the same on the Pistonheads united thread, just relentless delusional optimism and grasping at straws.

For at least the last 5 seasons they've just constantly veered between "we've got a decent manager but shit players" to "we've got decent players but a shit manager"

They're currently on the latter phase at the moment, "shit manager but decent players", no doubt as soon as they sack and replace EtH and are still shit they'll revert to phase one, "a decent manager but shit players"

Their pride and egos just never allow them to not maintain some degree of positivity and optimism, they just refuse to accept that they and the team they support are failures and losers.
They’ve got a shit club, shit hierarchy, shit finances, shit ground, shit facilities, shit manager, shit players and delusional ‘istree fans.

But they only seem to blame one of those things at a time.

It is almost as if the United fans have forgotten what good football and good players look like. They have bought a group of inferior players from the Dutch league. Yesterday they resorted to lumping the ball into the box for 20 minutes and the crowd started getting excited. It is as if they have turned into Stoke City from the 1990s. Surely the fanbase can’t all be that stupid.

Instead they sacked backroom staff who have been there for years the people who help the players on a daily basis.
They took the heart out of the shit hole.
Well done Jim
They are also struggling for match day staff asking those they made redundant to come back to help, close at times to having the minimum number to compile with safety They use to pay casual an extra hour on top of their actual shift time to facilitate them going over time, no more now its hours they work There was chaos in the car parks as the executives had no where to park due to no supervision on the car parks, from what I heard it was run in a chaotic state before the 27% sale now its even worse

Why are there always so many inquests in the media when these cunts get beaten, as if they have some kind of right to be good? I don’t see every pundit and their dog stepping up with comments if say Aston Villa or Newcastle lose two games in a row or get a pummelling at home.

When will this fucking shit club be left to become below average and ignored?

We want that don’t we? The other week MNF had a complete hour on how shit they are. I’m hoping for the same tonight.

When we get beat I’d prefer it if the performance is left well alone rather than splurged on the telly for an hour for all to see.

I’m down south for a bit, and just talking to one of the locals (ie natural habitat for united supporter) and just had this conversation with them.

They were going to get rid of the manager after the FA Cup but the fans were so outraged by it they reversed the decision.

Fans are generally clueless and think short term and now they're paying for it. Of course the bulk of them will blame the Glazers again.
They interviewed lots of candidates, one on FAC Final day, yet they choose to continue with Ten Hag giving him an extended contract, being suggested, with new conditions, if it was worse why would he have signed it? Anyhow, why interview so many and then stick, was it that ultimately the candidates weren't keen? The place has become a grave yard for managers and players

They could merge with FC Scum and rip money off Manchester Corporation too.

What is Man United?

Shite, that’s all they had to say.

You can see why Shearer was a flop as a manager. He has no understanding of modern football tactics. He was one of the greatest strikers I have ever seen. It never ceases to amaze me that so many great footballers turn out to be terrible tacticians. They just can’t see the bigger picture.

The great thing about the Pisscan's legacy is that it's almost impossible to match. I can't be arsed working it out but some managers might be close (or even ahead) in terms of trophies per season over a few seasons, but none stuck around for 26 years. - Pep would be better if he stayed for the same length of time but I can't see him staying that long, unfortunately.
I've mentioned before that prior to the GPC the rags won a trophy every 6.2 seasons on average (not including Charity Shields). Even if you tweak the figures and guess how many European trophies and League Cups they might have won had they been available the figure is still around one trophy every 4.5 seasons, and they've bettered that since the Pisscan retired.
I can understand the fans having unrealistic expectations, we all have, but for the media to focus purely on matching short term success shows an unbelievable bias. - Unless football really did start in 1992 of course.
They'd be better off selling the players, demolishing the ground and selling each brick for a fiver, than wasting their time trying to repeat the GPC era.
