The Conservative Party

Badenoch, thick as mince, lets tell everyone that maternity pay is too much, in a country with a falling birthrate. You know maternity pay that only people who are already contributing by working get.

Nothing like disincentives for doing the right thing, but businesses just cant afford it. Its almost as if its impossible to provide some form of rebate for smaller companies so that they can pay decent maternity/paternity pay.

Tories must sit there wondering why the indigenous population won't have kids and why we need so many immigrants to fill work places after they slash free nursery places , cut Sure Start , place a two child limit on Universal Credit , abolish free school meals etc etc etc

It's a f@cking mystery to them .

One factor may be that he will have missed several years of INSET training, which means his qualifications are effectively outdated. This must be a common problem for anyone returning to a profession after many years of absence, not just teaching. The world changes quickly these days.

He does not help his position by making gammony statements about 'too many activists in the classroom'. Most of the teachers I have known over the years are too busy with marking and preparation to be activists in any meaningful sense. Moreover, the common opinion that teachers are all lefties is wide of the mark. Some are, but I suspect there are proportionately more Conservatives among them than there are on this forum. I also suspect that the division is not all that different to that in the general population. Maybe just slightly more to the left than average, but not massively so as you might find with social workers.

You'd have thought that being a teacher he'd understand his deeds in parliament would have consequences after.

Being a "working class" Tory doesn't have the perks of a public school Tory who's mates from said establishment find them a few more jobs being paid for little or no output. Yet they have the temerity to blame welfare cases for the ills of the country.

Who’d employ a **** like him, especially in education.

The thick ****!

Don't cry too much for Johnny boy - as an MP he was amongst those who voted to double "winding down money" from 2 to 4 months so he will be getting @£25k payoff for those 4 months had he only been entitled to unemployment benefit - you know those he branded layabouts and scroungers - he would have got just under a grand.

I agree he made his approach to education - his boorish manner - his general lack of charm well known so frankly I am sure anyone seeing his name on a job application just moves on as he will cause more trouble than he is worth.

He made the classic 2019 intake mistake of thinking he had made it and was on a long distance journey on the gravy train then proceeded to fuck it up for themselves. Even 30p Lee could see there was no way they were winning so jumped ship to batter his chances - imagine being thicker than Anderson and thinking you are good enough to teach kids.

Here's James Cleverly at the Tory party conference, looking for those Brexit Benefits

This could go in other threads but it's a Conservative survey - of party members of different parties. (Peston showed some of the results.)

What is the most important quality in a leader? Tory members (and Reform) went for a strong leader, as in “Britain needs strong leaders who are prepared to break the rules in order to get things done”. Number 1 priority for Labour and LibDem members was "A strong moral compass" - not at all a priority for Tories and Reform members.

Jenrick believes that our Special Forces are murderers. This prick wants to lead the UK, hasn’t got the brains he was born with.

I heard on the news about the new tips legislation that will ensure that e.g. waiting staff etc get all the tips due to them, rather than their employer trousering the money.

What a good move I thought.

Until I then heard how it is administered. The tips get collected by the employer and then paid to the staff as income, on which they have to pay 20% tax and 12% NI. i.e. the government will trouser roughly 1/3rd of the money, whereas previously, presumably they got none.

So this is not about making things farer for low paid workers. It's another fucking government fucking money grabbing fucking con. The bastards.
