There'd be a hell of a lot of contenders.

Frankly the thread should be shut down with only the end of game thread maintained.

We may then get some (relatively) objective observations based on the whole game.
 
Mostly just bow out once the stupidity starts - normally once we concede or go 50 mins plus without scoring. I do like to 'bump shame' the odd post calling for a player to be subbed , sold etc if they score a winner. Usually a few Haaland haters get caught out that way.
 
Love it or hate it, it’s classic compulsive viewing. Hubby has the City commentary on one phone, constantly moaning about Alistair Mann’s commentary and I have Matchday thread on the other phone, moaning about some posters. Two sad bastards really, but we have no subscription telly, can’t get to games now so this is the nearest we get to being there. Having stood on terraces at Maine Road the comments are pretty typical.

Nowt sad in having a passionate opinion about City on matchday mate :)
 
If people reported users who cross the line, or are habitual offenders, we could take any necessary action, but for whatever reason we don't get many reports on the matchday threads (although that said, someone was reported and banned yesterday). I just don't really have the time or inclination to wade back through hundreds of pages after each game.

If we banned everyone who posted utter nonsense, as opposed to actual constructive criticism, this place would be like the Etihad in the last 5-10 minutes of games. Do you really want that?
