Pep's contract situation | 2 year extension confirmed! (pg1817)

I'd prefer them to do a 3-5 year extension now just to poke a pin in the balloon of the wankers that think we'll be in div 2 with fat Sam as manager next year. A long pep extension would boil a lot of piss and there can always be a release clause built in.
Wishful thinking.
My bet is that he will complete 10 years with us and move on to CFG, Head Coach of the whole group.

What is the relevance to him of ten years? I am hoping he will stay until one of "his" players can take over under his tutelage, maybe at CFG as you say. That would make more sense, I think. Just a hope, though.

I just meant a short extension would take him to ten which would be a neat point to resign.
Long after I’m gone, blues will talk about a legendary decade.

Press will be all over those comments he’s said to lineker tonight. about enjoying international breaks because he can relax. Those fuckers constantly down play his achievements accuse him of taking bungs. They want him out of city asap. But they desperately want him in the England job.
Until he explained the backroom staff having R & R I thought he was taking the piss loving the breaks.....maybe he still was.

I think Pep will stay, he has brought some young players on and I think he will be excited about how they will develop with maybe 2/3 incoming players.the only reason he leaves is if we are found guilty .
I think being found guilty makes him stay, more than it makes him leave. Not that I think either will happen. I.e think he'll extend before the verdict, and think we'll be cleared.

I personally think it’ll be a 2 year extension or he’ll leave
Thing about the one year extension is he’ll get to the start of next season and the media will be asking him the same questions about his future.
Doesn’t really provide the club with much stability either.

Ideal situation is that the verdict gets announced and his immediate public response through the club is either "we'll fight through this together" or "here's some more good news".

The fan reaction if he immediately followed up a verdict that favoured us with an immediate extension announcement would be incredible.

Said it before, all on hold until the hearing is over so not to prejudice. If he says he's leaving suggests we've lost (unlikely), If he signs suggests we've won.
There's a raft of contract extensions/upgrades allegedly on the table all on hold/unannounced .Imagine the media meltdown if Erling/Kev/Rodri and Pep all announced during this witchhunt hearing.

I don't think there's any chance we 'win' all 115 but let's wait and see what the sanctions / fines are.

Two minds on if Pep stays which I really hope and pray he does

is he waiting on charges outcome or does he know we will be found innocent and he leaves knowing we are in a great position

Or does he want to to carry on fighting against this country’s cartel putting them in there place

Problem is we will only find out facts when he decides

So at the moment we can all speculate but one things for sure we need to cherish these moments with Pep at the helm

Disagree with the hearing part. It contradicts the “business as usual” stance the club are taking. The appeals could delay the ultimate decision even longer. I personally think we’ll hear about Pep’s future much sooner than we think. November international break has been the precedent with past Pep extensions. Conversations being had this one.

As long as the club know his final date with plenty of time to make a new appointment, that is stable enough. The one thing that is difficult is the players’ motivation. We saw the drop off when Pellers was known to be leaving and the same has happened at other clubs.
Somebody is going to have to show great courage to succeed Pep. I’m free.
