City launch legal action against the Premier League | Club & PL reach settlement | Proceedings dropped (p1147)

The bottom line on this for me is the PL need to sit down and agree new rules but on much fairer terms. If they maintain the stated objective of the rules and ensure some form of FMV is applied to sponsorships and now financing packages then the burden and standard of proof that any deal is outside FMV becomes much harder to do , it has to be very obviously above FMV - and if they call a deal out may be much easier to challenge with the potential of huge legal costs and compensation. The financial packages much easier to give a value at FMV would think. Just think the PL will tread more carefully in future. An obvious advantage from going down the commercial sponsorship route rather than shareholder loans for us being we get to spend it on the squad and wages even within the new rules around squad costs. We are in a stronger position today than we were pre judgement. In effect we may not have beaten the school bully to a pulp but we have bloodied his nose.
That post didn’t age well! ;-)

Continuing my Telegraph theme today the third article today is a doom laden piece by Oliver Brown that Abu Dhabi is about to unleash a torrent of spending to essentially blow away any traditional rivals for good. Ourselves and Newcastle are about to become a Gulf duopoly.

It manages to be far worse than the pile of shite Sam Wallace produced earlier.
I read what Wallace wrote today. The bloke is a ****.

Multiple posters on here in recent times have bemoaned our passive stance against the haters,
Well, battle lines drawn, tanks primed and off we go.
Hopefully the start of a full offensive from a position of strength.
Given the previous public silence from us, personally believe we would not rock the boat further after yesterday unless we were confident on the 115.
Bring it on

Difference is, when we write letters, we do it ourselves, like big boys.
City-chairman, Khaldoon Al Mubarak, reportedly told UEFA general secretary at the time, Gianni Infantino, that he “would rather spend 30 million on the 50 best lawyers in the world to sue them (

Wow, the fact that he's citing our legal bod by name and not the usual 'source close to the club' suggests this is accurate and we are not fucking about.
Also, the PL 'emergency meeting' looks like a rushed attempt to re-jig the rules to make them legal which city at least is not prepared to accept.
Course it’s accurate, he’s been shown the email.

Do these rival fans not understand the PL put rules in place that was unlawful yet still they want us diluted to abyss jeleous cunts!
The smart ones do know, football fans are bitter and jealous at the best of times to be fair, it's horrible to see a team so successful.

They will do anything to stop success, sadly a horrible trait of human nature.

Looking forward to how the voting goes when the 'revised rules' are put to the vote. As they say not many turkeys would vote in favour of Christmas 8-)
