City launch legal action against the Premier League | Club & PL reach settlement | Proceedings dropped (p1147)

Not seen this mentioned elsewhere, but of the 19 other Premier League clubs, City are the only Club with the same owners since we were taken over in 2008.

9 clubs from that season are no longer in the Premier league.

Other ownership takeovers were Aston Villa (2018), West Ham (2010), Chelsea (recent), Liverpool (2010), Newcastle (2021), Arsenal (2011), Fulham (2014), Everton (2016 and recent), Utd (Football Operations- recent), Spurs (movement of shares and therefore ownership due to Joe Lewis dodgy share dealings – recent)

So, to those in the media who write that the clubs are fed up with City because ‘they joined our league and need to play by our rules’, you can f*ck off. We are the originators of the Premier league so abide by our rules..
Top post mate, very well researched, well done.

The guy should've been binned when he said (with a straight face) that any player not wanting to play for England should ring up the parents of dead soldiers to explain why.
To explain why they are exercising freedom of choice which a lot of service men and women died for….the thick twat.

Managed to catch a bit of the overlap and that Ian wright is a proper ****. He ranted about city need to stay in line with the rules, this is what happens when clubs are owned by states blah blah blah. It took Roy Keane to add a sense of balance. Gary was trying to be Simon Jordan with well thought out responses but his mouth betrayed him per usual due to the hate.

That Ian wright tho is a fucking wanker.
Simon Jordan does well thought out responses? To me he seems to just use big words and make himself look like a twat.

Amazing isn't it - we created the wealth that lot turned up to join the rags in plundering. lol

The teams who support the league bother me. What they really are saying is that we support United, Liverpool, Arsenal etc. what bothers me is that if they are willing to go along with the destruction of MCFC or at least ruin our reputation then where is the line that the supporting cast would not cross? How long before it spills onto not transferring players to us and forbid rigging games?

How cosy and legal are these relationships?
Grow a pair

Why isn’t the media all over those two little words “by object”? Showing that the panel found the Premier League had deliberately brought in anti-competitive rules to disadvantage certain clubs. How can the CEO stay in post after such a finding?
Thank you for pointing that out.

It also means City's claim for damages will be bigger. Plus those exemplary damages for the PL's misleading response!

Somebody needs to remind Wright how well he managed to stay in line with the UK’s taxation rules. Hypocritical tosser.

I remember him once coming out with “brouhaha” and I thought “Someone’s been watching Downton”…he probably carries a dictionary so that if he hears a big word, he can look it up and think about how he can use it in a sentence…

makes you wonder if Newcastle takeover never happened but instead of pensioner Ratcliffe the Qatari guy ends up buying Manchester Rags, would the usual suspects send around the same letter within 5 days of takeover?

also would the PL have done the same delay tactic of trying to block the Qatari takeover of rags like they did with Newcastle 3 years ago with the Saudis?

we all know the answer to these.

As the swindling cartel bastards PL have rejected our sponsorship renewal, I was just wondering when does the current deal expire ? I mean what happens if there's another huge delay before a decision is made. If that deal expires will we play in a sponsorless kit ? and will someone have to climb on top of the stadium roof and scrub out the Etihad Airways sign, the one that's visible at 20,000 feet... what a shit show..

The question needs to be asked just why these clubs are siding with the redshirts.
Hardly rocket science, mate. For the same reason all along; to prevent any club spending vastly more than them and thereby either leaving them behind or forcing them into an arms race. I don’t agree with them but there is a logic there.

imagine if Emirates whenever have their deal expiring with Arsenal would come back with a renewal offer of 300m per yer (because their commercial guy is drunk as the Chevrolet guy was lol) rather than the 60m or whatever they have now for shirt+stadium deal.

does PL accepts that 300m deal without hesitation due to its not a company from same country as the owner? or is there any market value test on that?
