City launch legal action against the Premier League | Club & PL reach settlement | Proceedings dropped (p1147)

Pretty much. The club today is one of the best in the world. That’s a fact many don’t want to acknowledge.

The bottom teams don’t like us because we used to be one of them not so long ago. The mid tier clubs still see themselves as our equal and the top clubs see us as inferior.

The cheating angle is aiding their view reaffirmed by the football regulator and the media.

We are in a no win situation. All we can do is support our club and try to fight back against the negative onslaught. We owe it to the future generation.

I have no doubt that history will show a club battling for survival against an oppressed system with archaic rigged laws.
History will show that City were the hero that saved the PL from trashing itself. All those clubs and journos trashing us now will be seen as the forces of evil. I am proud of what we are doing and will never apologise for any of it. A bumpy ride, but well worth it.
CTID.
PS. My favourite modern film is Erin Brockovich. I’m just an old romantic really.

Don't know if anyone's mentioned/asked this yet, but what happens if...

A Championship team gets taken over by someone ridiculously wealthy and signs sponsorship deals with a related party for a daft amount over ten years.

The APT and FMV things are just Premier League aren't they?

So what happens regarding that sponsorship deal if the team gets promoted after one season? Would the remainder of the deal then be adjusted to FMV?

And then what happens if they get relegated? Could they go back to the original deal amount?

Pathetic from the bow wow.

All right for arsewipes to be 'Invincible'

All right for dippers to dominate.

All right for rags to dominate.

Not OK for City to invest over many years.

Not OK for City to be successful over several years.

Not OK for City to develop into the best managed sporting enterprise on the planet.

Not OK for Pep to reinvent football globally.

It's OK to be the demonstrator for the dildo twins sex toys.

Daft cow !!

Another fucking charlatan that can’t spell judgment correctly. On what planet is a football journalist any better qualified to evaluate a legal finding than some random down the pub? The **** is a fucking fraud.

A public service reminder that Tariq regards himself as qualified to pontificate on matters of law, finance and accounting as they affect football when his past tweets have shown more than once that he doesn't even understand what a balance sheet is. Like Stoke, he's a fucking joke.

Interestingly, I worked out the other week that we repaid the loan to get the stadium ready for football (£22m) around about 2014

Approximate CIty Payments so far:
2003-2010 (7 years) @£2m = £14m
2011-2024 (14 years) @£3m =£21m
Total = £36m

Overall stadium costs.
Construction costs £112m
Build for football £22m
Fit out for football £20m (paid by City)

Indeed we will have paid for the Commweath games stadium in 30 years time.
City are paying more than you have calculated
From a Foi request

The following table details the basic rent paid by MCFC for the most recent financial year, Apr 14 – Mar 15.

I think that ethos applies to literally all football journalists, the ego that they have to think themselves qualified to comment on complex legal and financial issues when they barely understand what end of the pen to use is mindblowing.

Disagree, the media are just trying to create a story where one doesn't exist. She wants a competitive PL which is what we have, she's seems to be saying that financial rules are needed which is something that City actual agree on despite the media (once again) trying to imply we want a free for all.

I think you've bought into the medias narrative there, although you're not alone by the looks.
I disagree. She mentions financial controls to keep the PL competitive, but where was her concern when ManUre & Chelsea spent over a decade divvying up PL titles between them?

If anything, she's inadvertently spilled the beans. Wasn't FFP & PSR meant to control rising debt in football to stop another Portsmouth from happening? Where is her concern over debt?

Nah, her concern is stopping other clubs from investing in their squads, so the Hammers don't get left behind & become relegation threatened. This is Brady wanting to drag everyone down to her level, rather than investing so WHU improve to a level where they can compete for the PL title & CL places. This is the dream for all fans of PL teams, not just annual PL survival.

Think about what she's actually saying. It's not fair if clubs like City have ambitions & put their owners money where their ambitions lie, run their clubs professionally & reap the rewards. How dare City leave WHU behind!

No wonder most Hammers fans can't stand her. Just imagine if she took over from Khaldoon & her plan for City going forward was Gollum as manager & PL survival every season? That's the level she wants everyone in the PL to be at so it's "fair".
