Pep's contract situation | 2 year extension confirmed! (pg1817)

Meanwhile, Pep has the club by the short and curlies.
All good things must come to an end and this uncertainty is poor business practice.
What do you expect Pep to do ?

  • Announce part way into the season that he is leaving ?
  • Walk out part way through the season ?
As mentioned earlier, City will already know by now Peps intentions and any succession plans will already be in place.

I don’t think Pep needs to do anything. It is up to the club to offer a one year rolling contract with the usual safeguards or a longer contract. Either will put a stop to an annual bean feast which is not edifying to say the least.

He has at all his previous clubs.

I don’t know how anyone could not want one more year if that’s all that’s on offer. I’ll be depressed after he misses just one match.
Feel like some fans just want it over and done with, the transition I mean obviously not Pep.

So many City fans seem to take the media bait, City and Pep know the situation, they will make it public when they are ready.
Very true
No one really knows. I’ve heard leaving, 1 year and 2 year since the start of the international break.

I expect the club, management and/or board to be that professional that we won’t see another Arsenal/Wenger or United/baconface.
And we all know the bible says after 7 good years … welk it’s 13 since the FA Cup win vs Stoke, but there will be a period we will not win much silverware. Even relegation to Div 2 won’t unbalance me as a City fan. Been there. Seen it. We move on.

I certainly think 1 year is a possibility. That will be the 10 years completed. Who knows it might be more, or he could in fact call it a day. Nobody knows (other than the people that do) and as fans we will talk and discuss it when our manager is in his last year. Last time it was around the November when the extension was announced. So nothing too worrying, the day will come at some point though and that is where the worry lies.

He’ll extend for another season.

Possibly even bring the next geez in to work as his assistant for the season to suss the ropes out.

I think he’ll stay on after that in some kind of “global” / DOF type role.

You don’t let a man like him go. You let him stay around on his own terms.
