City’s New Kits

New Shirt sponsorship by FIRST ABU DHABI BANK.....with Etihad Airways remaining as stadium sponsors.

Second Kit will be all white and include Green, Black, Gold and Red colour ways, the national colours of the UAE.......Beautiful !!

It was going to feature an image of Sheikh Mansour waving a fist full of dollars but humility prevailed.

Large vats of boiling piss at the yank red cartel clubs !!
I hope Etihad and First Bank will be charged double the present rate for the honour!

Good, we need to be spending plenty in the next few transfer widows.
3 in 2 out + the CFA lads.

Win the PL,CL & WCC and we'll settle Labour's budget deficit and lend the PL money to settle their legal bills....+ Sheikh Mansour's interest of 22% !!

This is currently for sale from various online places. I mean I actually like it , so its probably not an upcoming puma design. But why the hell would you celebrate a 145th anniversary? And the 145th anniversary of what? Am i missing something?1000009031.png

St Marks?
City didn’t come from St Marks-Gorton-Ardwick.

Those three were a continuation of each other, but City weren’t the fourth in that list.

City were founded as a new club from scratch in 1894. It is a coincidence that Ardwick folded in the same year, but Ardwick still existed when City were founded and even played a match before folding after City had already been founded.

City are 130 years old, with no forerunners.

I know the history, but St Marks were formed in 1880. Which is 145 years next year. Plus the colours match up.

better have a word with our official site.

1875 - 1910

1880 St Mark’s Church forms a football team which would later evolve into MCFC.

1884 The first known ‘City shirt’ is created – in black, with a Maltese-style cross. Some say this is because of the club’s strong links with Freemasonry in the 1880s, others believe the white cross proves the link with St Mark’s was still strong.

1887 St Mark’s team evolves into Ardwick AFC and moves to Hyde Road.

1889 An explosion at the nearby Hyde Road coal mine results in the death of 23 miners – Ardwick and Newton Heath play a friendly match under floodlights in aid of the disaster fund.

1892 The second division of the English Football League is created, with Ardwick AFC as founder members.

1894 Ardwick AFC reforms as Manchester City Football Club, in a bid to represent the whole city.

Indeed, that needs to be changed.

There were people involved in the formation of Manchester City who at one stage or another were involved in either St Marks, Gorton or Ardwick (or two of the three or all three). Again, it’s just a coincidence though.

It’s even wrong about St Marks becoming Ardwick. It went:
St Marks - Unknown date (the earliest record of a match is 1880, but that doesn’t mean that’s when they were formed) to 1884
Gorton - 1884-1887
Ardwick - 1887-1894

‘On 18th April 1894 Ardwick lost 2-0 to Sheffield United at Hyde Road before a poor attendance of 200 spectators in a match held “to help the Ardwick Committee meet some of their heavy financial liabilities.” Ardwick’s last match was a scoreless draw away against Stockport County on 28th April 1894’.

Manchester City were formed between 12th-16th April.

Are you saying that, contrary to popular belief, we were not in fact formed in 2008?
