He looked so good in his cameo against the Spurs.

I believe he was in the preseason squad as well that went oversees.

How has he looked for the youth teams? Anyone have a bit of scouting report?

He might be needed to make a few more appearances in the senior team given the schedule and the injuries in the 1st team squad.

I loved the part of his game last night in which Tottenham intercepted the ball in midfield, Kulusevski had the ball with Solanke onside making the run in behind, Simpson-Pusey stepped up in time to ball him offside otherwise Solanke was clean through.

Numerous small details to his game last night that was so impressive, Skipping past Solanke and playing a forward pass into midfield, He tried a few diagonal passes too, A few in which didn't work out but he mixed it up and took risks with the ball at such a young age.

He was excellent last night. Did everything that he had to deal with pretty much perfectly.

I have to be honest, when I first saw him two (ish) years ago I said he'd never make it at City. Seemed full of mistakes and was giving away goals every week.

However, after that cameo I'm happy that he's proving me wrong. He's got a chance to build from that and have a good career.

A brilliant debut. Very composed defending. Attempted a couple of diagonal balls which didn't quite come off, but had the confidence to try those passes which I always like to see from our youngsters. Whilst doing the basics right is fine, we need our young players to do so much more if they're to make it with us. Read the game well, playing offside or being in a position to get to the ball first. Wouldn't have an issue with him slotting in for us again based on that showing.

I mentioned that same moment yesterday. Many seasoned pro's would chase him back there as it's the easier thing to do but he executed that step up to perfection, showed great intelligence and composure to do so.

Also thought it was telling that pep trusted him to go in at centre back, could easily have switched gvardiol to cb and stuck him left back as we all know Pep has a habit of blooding players in less risky wide positions.

Looked like he belonged, stand out despite such a short cameo. Academy defenders tend to be great on the ball but don’t do much defending as part of their development, so that moment where he stepped up on Solanke encouraged me. Could be one that properly makes the step up in a few years to be proper first team player if development goes well.

Are his family not from Yorkshire? Dads brother full on Scouse lad

A different Uncle is a friend of mine. He comes from Deighton Huddersfield. I assume most of the family come from there. But I think they also have relatives in Manchester.

He's been at the club for a long, long time and has always been highly regarded. He is a front foot defender with good technique and an ability to bring the ball out of defence and release it with accuracy. He definitely has a shot at a successful career in the game. He is also very strongly built for his age and possibly already has the physical presence to cope, as does Callum Doyle whose loans have been consistently excellent.

For supporters like myself, who don't watch our youth football, information like this is interesting and informative.

Thanks for posting this.
