Pep's contract situation | 2 year extension confirmed! (pg1817)

When Pep convinced walker to stay, people were convinced he was the best RB in the world. He won 3 trophies as well. Now that we lost our first game in 32, suddenly Walker is beyond use and his age means pep needs to go. Ok pal.

Not saying pep out or Pep needs to go thats stupid.

Walker was at that time the best right back in the world but he still had flaws might be why he didnt start the final. Those flaws are worse now. He's miles off his best form. In my opinion I think Pep convinced Walker to stay as we lost a major leader in Gundo and we couldn't lose another winner/leader in Walker in the same window.

The defence isn't fine we need a center back with pace who is strong and is good in the air!!! A lot to ask for in 1 player I know we also defo need a new right back either first choice or back up.
Guess what? We have one and cost us £85m!

Have Josko is his natural and move Ake back to left back.

You think if Pep was prepared to extend a year and after 10 years here review every year, the club would (should?) tell him to get fucked and get someone else in because he wouldn't commit to two?

For the record, I think he extend for two myself, as I don't see him doing one, doesn't feel like his style. But regardless, that's crazy talk pal.
We’d take a rolling contract mate - no way we’d tell Pep that it doesn’t suit us.

I too think Pep will surprise a few with a 2 year.

You do realize he didn’t have one training session prior to yesterday’s game. Still a quality RB. Why does everyone look for a scapegoat?

I echo these thoughts. It’s time we shuffled the deck and started to utilise players abit better to get us out of this rut until the market opens.

It’s all very blah, players looked bored of trying to break down 11 players most games.

Recruiting will either stand us out from the pack or it won’t. Our inability to spend big is starting to become a worry.

Fwiw, which is zilch, I think he’ll go next summer.
But I do think the club would 100% take a rolling contract if that’s what he said he wanted.

United had years to prepare for Ferguson's departure, but when it happened they seemed totally unprepared
They also threw Moyes under the bus and Evra and Ferdinand have both since admitted that the First XI clique were never going to adjust to his new methods

City need to avoid the obvious pitfalls, but with or without Pep, my biggest concern is that apart from Gvardiol replacing Laporte the last two summer transfer windows have been distinctly underwhelming and whilst making a huge profit our squad looks weaker

Gundogan returning might still prove to be a masterstroke but for the moment it seems to be mirroring United's mistake with Ronaldo

The next Summer Transfer Window will be critical but unless he commits for the next 2-3 years, the new signings will have to be made with Pep's replacement in mind.
